This role is part of the NCR VOYIX’s Digital First Banking Information Security team. This team is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining NCR VOYIX’s Digital First Banking information security program. The primary goal of the program is to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information resources. Key information security functions and activities include architecture and design for NCR VOYIX information security controls, developing and enforcing policies and standards, security awareness training, risk management, assessment, and testing, monitoring and metrics, incident management, threat and vulnerability management, and fraud. This role is focused on analyzing, protecting, and reporting financial fraud and supporting recommendations to mitigate and reduce fraud risk.
The Information Security Engineer II will be responsible for the day-to-day activities required to analyze fraud telemetry shared by clients and security tools, generate client facing analysis reports, and lead discussions related to fraud analysis with clients. The Information Security Engineer I will work in a collaborative manner with other business, engineering, and security teams to ensure fraud-related events are managed and communicated in accordance with NCR VOYIX’s corporate policy. At times there may be a limited need to work on the on-call rotation including working off hours/weekends and respond to ad-hoc requests as part of this position. The Information Security Engineer I will work to continuously improve our fraud security processes and analysis as cyberthreats continuously evolve and the need to adapt to protect NCR VOYIX and our customers increases. This position requires the applicant to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment as the detection and protection from fraud requires a timely response and communication to reduce the risk.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitoring and reporting malicious activity trends in our online solutions and transactions.
- Automating current fraud detections, reporting and processes.
- Innovate and develop new fraud detections, reporting and processes.
- Remediating risks and attacks, responding quickly to the new and emerging threats.
- Maintaining integrations between third-party fraud and security tools.
- Working with other teams on improving our fraud security posture.
- Develop integrations between third-party tools, transactional systems, and fraud technologies.
- Fraud subject matter expert by providing the best service to internal teams and clients.
Skills and Qualifications
- 3 years of work experience in cybersecurity and/or financial fraud roles.
- Interest in and knowledge of the latest trends in fintech fraud and other threats.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Knowledge of/experience with SIEM tools (preferably Splunk) both as a user and administrator.
- Knowledge of/experience with WAF solutions (Cloudflare, Akamai or similar).
- Experience working in cloud environments (preferably GCP).
- Experience creating queries in SQL or other database query languages.
- Experience developing and supporting code in Python, Bash or other scripting languages for process and data automation.
- Experience developing and tailoring documentation and fraud guidance based on audience.
- Ability to assimilate, understand and utilize various security and fraud technologies.
- Ability and willingness to learn new tools and processes.
- Excellent English language proficiency both written and verbal.
- Strong communication skills and ability to present highly technical topics to a non-technical audience in a collaborative manner.
- Experience in fintech infosec and financial fraud fields.
- Understanding of data pipelines implementation in cloud environments.
- Excellent knowledge of Excel (VBA is a plus).
- Knowledge of NIST Cyber Security Framework, MITRE ATT&CK Framework.
