Operationally reporting to the lead Programme Manager/Director, this role is to actively deliver integrated project controls activities across the programme's project variants and through the deployment and execution of Performance Management, WBS and Cost Management, Risk Management and in conjunction with the programme's planning team - accurate scheduling, resource levelling and resource management, Critical Path Analysis and Schedule Risk Analysis.
Working within an applied matrix organisation (in particular working in collaboration with the engineering, procurement, supply-chain and production departments), the role will foster and encourage the culture and operational effectiveness of Integrated Project Teams (IPTs).
As a member of the Bids and Programmes job family, you will be expected to support an integrated/whole Marshall/ Life Cycle Management Processes (LCM) and Business Management System (BMS) and bring your experience and knowledge to support the wider team.
Key Responsibilities for Senior Project Controller include:
- Responsibility for the day-to-day provision of Project Controls data, information, metrics, budgetary analysis, supporting project execution within the various projects and at integrated programme level.
- Responsibility for leading and coordinating the Performance Monitoring, Reporting and Risk Management of the various projects within a programme.
- Managing the Project's Project-Controls update-cycle.
- Supporting the Project Manager in the preparation and collation of internal reporting for Operational Project Reviews, as well as Client specific monthly/quarterly project reports as required.
- Leading the generation of monthly SPI, CPI, whole EVM and CPA information from the integrated project schedules.
- Managing the incorporation of authorised changes into the Project Contract Master Schedule (CMS), and supervising scenario modelling and assessment of risk events for proposed changes to the CMS and the Performance Measurement Baseline.
- Leading Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis (QSRA) to analyse the level of confidence of the Forecast Schedule and the contractual Deliverables Dates.
- Undertaking additional activities as required by line management, the Business Line Director and the Central Operations Leadership Team.
- Supporting effective 'Lessons Learned' (LFE - Learning From Experience) activities.
Apply if you have most of the following:
- Experience in 'front line' project-control roles, ideally in the defence domain - undertaking project and programme controls roles within one or a combination of Bids, Projects and/or Programmes, operations / production and project-engineering.
- An understanding of engineering development principles and manufacturing processes in principle.
- Subject matter expertise in the application of Project Controls & techniques, including project control and reporting, change management, cost control, Integrated Baseline Planning (IBP), Supply-Chain schedule integration and risk & opportunity management. (Tool knowledge to include MSP, P6 Primavera).
- Practitioner in EVM, SPI and CPI and being able to explain their full terms and how they are set-up and exercised on a Project through planning tools into a Project Plan.
- Experience in generating Critical Path Analysis and Risk Adjusted Schedules.
- Desirable: worked within a collaborative matrix-managed 'IPT' environment.
- Desirable: A qualification in Project Controls or Project Management an advantage, but not essential.
Based in the UK, with operations in Canada, Marshall specialises in the design and production of deployable operational infrastructure and mission support for humanitarian, defence and security operations across the globe.
Other core services include the integration of complex systems into a range of vehicles for use by the military and security services including explosive ordnance disposal and battlefield ambulances all underpinned by a full in-life managed service provision to ensure customers' equipment is available where and when they need it.
