OPAL House is a specialist reablement unit based at Wythenshawe Hospital in south Manchester designed to support older people in the transition from the acute hospital site to their own home following a period of acute illness. You will undertake occupational therapy assessment and treatment with the specific aim to instil functional independence and support their physical and mental wellbeing.

You need to have specialist assessment and treatment skills to support and inform discharge plans. You will be able to manage a varied caseload autonomously and be able to work within a multidisciplinary team.

You will support the Senior Practitioner in the day-to-day running of the team and contribute to service development. You will have an interest in working in frailty and acute medicine.

You will supervise staff including band 4 Therapy Technicians. You will support, train and educate others. You will maintain your own continuing professional development. You will be supported to develop personally and professionally within this role.

To perform occupational therapy assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions, and ensure safe and effective discharge. To develop and deliver individualised assessment and treatment programme. This will involve liaison with community services, day services, the voluntary sector and other service providers.

To be responsible for the management your own caseload, with support and supervision as required. Supervision takes the form of regular formal training and clinical reasoning sessions, peer review and case conferences.

To be able to carry out comprehensive generic therapy assessments and interventions in line with best practice such as the Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment framework, in a ward setting, identifying required interventions, supporting timely discharge and directing patients towards the most appropriate pathways of care.

To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.

To supervise, educate and assess the performance of occupational therapy students (this would be to a graduate standard and involve working with universities to ensure the level of clinical practice and teaching meets the standards set by the degree level qualification). To support the therapy team lead in the ongoing development of the OPAL House therapy service.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse to join our team on Acute Cardiac Centre. We are looking for a highly motivated and innovative nurse to work and lead our team to help deliver high quality care to our patients.

ACC is a 19 bedded coronary care unit, which specialises in the care of patients with heart failure, adult congenital heart disease, and those who have undergone advanced cardiology interventions in our cardiac catheter labs following a number of advanced cardiology interventions such as primary PCI.

You will receive a full induction and will be supported by the specialist education team to become a competent junior sister / charge nurse. Role Summary:

You will act as a key member of the back of house catering team to assist the organisation in providing patients, staff and visitors with high quality person centred and safe catering service.

You will assist with the preparation of food and contributing to the operation and cleanliness of kitchens and associated equipment whilst supporting the production, portioning, distribution and services of

Are you a passionate and driven Occupational Therapist with the desire to support people in regaining and maintaining their own independence? OPAL House is a specialist reablement unit based at Wythenshawe Hospital in south Manchester designed to support older people in the transition from the acute hospital site to their own home following a period of acute illness. You will undertake occupational therapy assessment and treatment with the specific aim to instil functional independence and support their physical and mental wellbeing.

You need to have specialist assessment and treatment skills to support and inform discharge plans. You will be able to manage a varied caseload autonomously and be able to work within a multidisciplinary team.

You will support the Senior Practitioner in the day-to-day running of the team and contribute to service development. You will have an interest in working in frailty and acute medicine.

You will supervise staff including band 4 Therapy Technicians. You will support, train and educate others. You will maintain your own continuing professional development. You will be supported to develop personally and professionally within this role.

To perform occupational therapy assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions, and ensure safe and effective discharge. To develop and deliver individualised assessment and treatment programme. This will involve liaison with community services, day services, the voluntary sector and other service providers.

To be responsible for the management your own caseload, with support and supervision as required. Supervision takes the form of regular formal training and clinical reasoning sessions, peer review and case conferences.

To be able to carry out comprehensive generic therapy assessments and interventions in line with best practice such as the Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment framework, in a ward setting, identifying required interventions, supporting timely discharge and directing patients towards the most appropriate pathways of care.

To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.

To supervise, educate and assess the performance of occupational therapy students (this would be to a graduate standard and involve working with universities to ensure the level of clinical practice and teaching meets the standards set by the degree level qualification). This role is supported through access to a clinical educator’s course if required.

To support the therapy team lead in the ongoing development of the OPAL House therapy service.

The Manchester (M) Thrive Hub is a single point of entry, a front door, to Manchester’s Emotional Well being Services. The M Thrive Hub assistant Practitioners will work within one of the three Manchester locality M Thrive Hubs (North, Central, South).

The M Thrive Hub assistant practitioner roles will include acting as enablers and systems supporters; providing advice, information and signposting to well-being services. The key aim of the M-Thrive strategy is to ensure that children, young people and carers are able to Thrive in their local communities.

M Thrive Hub assistant Practitioners will work to map and develop close working relationships with the whole range of local services in their area, this is to enable an integrated community response to meet the well-being needs of children, young people, families and carers . This will involve working along side all stake holders ,including children, young people and carers.

To help M Thrive team navigate young people, parent and carers who have not been accepted by your local emotional health and wellbeing services, but who need some wellbeing or support services.

To be able to hold complex and high level conversations with young people and families and have the ability to have a positive behaviour change with them in order for them to be able to access a community neighbourhood offer.

To have challenging conversations with young people and families that may arise from the referral being at the ‘wrong front door’, having to manage their expectations in a sensitive and hold potential contentious conversations, to engage them in a positive manner when the message needs to be understood and accepted to promote engagement.
