Role Overview:
The Service Delivery Architect will be part of the Delivery team, serving as a vital link between Sales, Pre-Sales, and Delivery. This role is crucial for addressing gaps in formal solutioning, sizing, and scheduling for major projects, including PSS initiatives, Tech Refresh programs, and new service transitions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluation of New Opportunities: Early Engagement: Join initial sales meetings and bid reviews to analyze the feasibility and risks of new ventures.
Service Compatibility: Assess whether proposed solutions align with the organization's established service offerings and can be executed using existing capabilities.
Due Diligence: Perform detailed evaluations of potential clients, focusing on their specific requirements, technical setups, and any challenges.
Decision Guidance: Provide insights to inform decisions on pursuing opportunities based on risk assessments, resource availability, and likelihood of success.
Expertise in Technology Infrastructure: Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in areas such as Network and Security Design.
- Standardization Oversight: Adherence to Standards: Ensure proposed solutions comply with standardized service offerings, configurations, and delivery methodologies.
Customization Evaluation: Assess and document any necessary customizations, ensuring they receive proper approvals.
Knowledge Management: Maintain a comprehensive repository of standard services, configurations, and best practices to guide solution development and delivery.
- Service Level Agreement (SLA) Negotiation: Realistic SLAs: Work closely with Sales, Pre-sales, and Delivery teams to create achievable and measurable SLAs that fit the organization’s capabilities.
Performance Metrics: Define clear metrics and methodologies for assessing SLA compliance.
Risk Identification: Identify potential risks associated with SLA commitments and recommend effective mitigation strategies.
- Risk Management: Proactive Risk Identification: Continuously identify potential risks throughout the service lifecycle, covering technical, operational, financial, and reputational aspects.
Risk Analysis Techniques: Utilize tools such as risk matrices and probability assessments to evaluate identified risks.
Mitigation Planning: Develop and implement strategies to reduce both the likelihood and impact of risks.
- Resource Sizing and Scoping: Accurate Resource Estimation: Collaborate with the Delivery team to estimate the resources required for proposed solutions, using the Standard Service Catalogue and sizing tools. Document significant cost deviations as risks.
Scope Clarification: Assist in defining the scope of work, ensuring it is clearly articulated and agreed upon with the client.
Cost and Pricing Strategy: Provide insights into cost structures and pricing models to ensure both competitiveness and profitability.
- Continuous Improvement Initiatives:Performance Analysis: Review service delivery data to identify trends and areas for process enhancement within the Standard Service Catalogue.
Innovation Pursuit: Explore new technologies and methodologies to improve service delivery and foster continuous improvement.
By engaging in these activities, the Service Delivery Architect ensures that services are delivered with exceptional quality, reliability, and compliance, ultimately enhancing client satisfaction and supporting business growth.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, Cloud Certifications, CCIE-R&S, Security, Data Centre, Service Provider, Advanced Design) are highly desirable.
- Professional Experience: At least 10 years of progressive experience in Pre-Sales, Technical Architecture, or IT service management.
Proven track record in service design and delivery, risk management, SLA management, compliance, and process enhancement.
- Technical Proficiencies: Deep understanding of IT infrastructure components, including networks, servers, storage, and databases.
Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
Knowledge of automation tools and technologies.
Experience with service monitoring and management tools.
Strong analytical skills for interpreting service performance data.
Additional Considerations:
- Experience in a Systems Integrator (SI) role is essential.
- Consulting experience is advantageous for engaging with a variety of clients and challenges.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and DevOps practices is increasingly beneficial in today’s dynamic IT environment.
This combination of qualifications, experience, and skills enables the Service Delivery Architect to effectively lead and manage the service assurance function, ensuring high-quality, reliable, and compliant service delivery that meets client needs and drives business success.
