Overview of the role
Lead the Japan Technology and Services (T&S) team, a team mainly consisting of PS and CX people, building on an established franchise to develop a high-performance onshore team. Establish and maintain strong client relationships by consistently exceeding client expectations, leading high-profile engagements, demonstrating subject matter expertise and hiring, assigning and directing qualified staff.
Details of the role
• Country leadership role to manage different lines of businesses of FIS
• Create project standards sync with other verticals practice managers
• Maintain a pool of candidates and hire/coach/grow local PMs/SMEs
• Assign resources to projects using local resources and connect with vertical practice managers to fill the resource gap from global pool
• Optimize Professional Services (PS) & Client Experience (CX) organizations to be able to deliver different products and also work with global managers to source local gaps
• Set Key Performance Indicators for all T&S local resources
• Support Practice Managers to create project policy when initiating project
• Monitor project status and act as escalation point for projects
• Report project status to internal senior stakeholders
• Manage client communication if escalated
• Run projects following the appropriate FIS project standards and policy
• Responsible to meet Country Key Performance Indicators in alignment with global objectives
• Have responsibility and ownership for the Technology & Services organization in Japan and collaborate with the wider global organization.
• Liaise with other subject matter experts (in country and globally) and collaborate with Sales
• Manage multiple clients and internal stakeholders
• Manage strategic business growth and oversee implementation projects
- Own key partner relationships, ensure alignment, address issues and escalations.
- Own client relationships, ensure alignment through lifecycle and collaborate with internal stakeholders to address friction.
- Develop a sense of organizational community within the T&S Japan organization, drive engagement, support career development and a high-performance culture.
• Review and upskill existing talent. Attract and new talent.
• Other related duties assigned as needed.
People needed
• Good leadership, management skills, and highly regarded business leader managing resources
• Experience handling Capital Markets solutions like treasury management system implementation and professional services for corporates and/or banking and financial services is a plus
• Extensive background in business acumen, business growth portfolio and implementation of Capital Markets software solutions
• Wide experience/expertise coming from both Vendor and client side of the business
• Ideally worked in an international and global environment
• Experience handling multiple clients
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to collaborate with C-level management, peers and others
• Broad knowledge of regulatory requirements, financial institution operations, and risk management
• Speaks and writes fluently in Japanese and English
• Listening skills and ability to ensure open and candid two-way communication
• Project management, productivity, planning, and workload management skills.
• Negotiation skills regarding complex issues
• Ability to work well under pressure and keep emotions under control during difficult situations
• Adaptable and able to show good performance in fast-paced, changing business environments
