An opportunity has arisen for the role of Operational Director of Finance/Deputy Chief Financial Officer to join a new NHS Group – Our Group is one of the largest acute and community Group arrangements in the NHS, with a budget of over £1.3 billion.

We are now looking for a Remarkable Person to join our Extraordinary Place at this pivotal time. We are looking for a senior finance professional to join us who can drive change, lead teams, and provide effective management and operation of internal financial controls, policies and processes
This is an excellent opportunity for a high calibre individual who is passionate about building up best practice within Finance who can provide day to day operational, compassionate leadership of the hospitals finance function, specifically ensuring the provision of high quality financial business partnering in support of the Groups clinical activities.
Whilst we move at pace towards a Group Operating Model, the two NHS trusts in the Group remain legally separate. As such this role needs to help navigate our financial obligations as two separate Trusts operating within a group
HUTH has two main sites: Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital with an annual budget of approximately £500 million. The Trust employs around 11,000 staff and serves an extended population of 1.25 million, delivering a number of outpatient services from locations across the area, extending from Scarborough in North Yorkshire to Grimsby and Scunthorpe in North East and North Lincolnshire respectively

This role would best suit a dynamic individual who wants to help design an innovative approach to financial management within an embryonic group whilst bringing in best practice from across the NHS and the wider public sector.
You will be report directly to the Group Chief Financial Officer and as Deputy Chief Financial Officer will be required to deputise across for the full portfolio providing expert advice to the Group on all financial matters.
Applicants will require exceptional leadership qualities, commercial acumen, strong relationship management skills, strong business understanding, and personal credibility. You will be passionate about improvement and influencing change, you will be a natural leader who will facilitate and support collaborative working both internally and externally to the Group.
