Your new role
As a Civil Structural Engineer you will be responsible for the delivery of varied design and engineering packages of work for key nuclear clients. You will be contributing to multidisciplinary design delivery, which means integrating with fellow disciplines as well as mentoring and supporting junior colleagues.

What you'll need to succeed

• Good civil structural design experience within a consultancy environment, ideally with nuclear/highly-regulated project experience but that isn't a requirement
• You should be an excellent team player, capable of effectively collaborating with team members, other disciplines and clients
• Engineering design and substantiation, backed up by first principal analysis and knowledge of UK and International design codes
• Ideally, working towards Incorporated or Chartered status with the ICE or IStructE

Your new role
In your capacity as a Senior Quality Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing product quality. You'll be responsible for monitoring product performance, investigating quality issues, and collaborating with engineering teams to implement effective solutions. This role involves managing quality assurance processes and overseeing various inspections and audits, ensuring that the clients' products consistently meet and exceed industry standards.
The role will be office based, working 37.5hrs per week.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Monitoring product quality and reporting to the Management Team.
• Investigating product quality issues to establish root causes and liaising with Product Engineers and the factory to implement improvements.
• Timely resolution of quality issues through robust root cause analysis and implementation of permanent and preventative corrective actions.
• Providing Quality Engineering support for the development of FMEA's, quality control, and test plans as part of the product Life Cycle Management process.
• Reviewing customer complaints as necessary.
• Managing Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI), including factory self PDI's, the clients China Quality Engineers, and 3rd Party PDI's.
• Managing and undertaking Goods Inwards (GI) inspections to ensure product specifications are met.
• Quality control of products being reworked, writing rework instructions, and ensuring adherence.
• Managing factory desktop or 3rd party audits, including ethical audits, and instructing the Far East team in factories manufacturing the products.
• Leading the management of Quality Assurance and ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 Management Systems.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this position, you will need:

• A strong background in Quality Engineering and Quality Assurance, ideally within the electrical sector.
• Familiarity with both electrical and mechanical disciplines.
• Proficiency in report writing, particularly in creating 8D reports to communicate findings effectively.
• Experience with electrical installation products will be a distinct advantage.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, combined with a methodical and organised mindset.

Working for a friendly and personable public sector client, as a Field Engineer, you will be part of the team required to do all levels of face-to-face support at various locations in Birmingham.

• Respond to client and system service requests and troubleshoot and fix technical faults and issues to completion.
• Handle security and network administration tasks.
• Perform any hardware repair and replacement.
• Ensure equipment is installed and ready for use by the end-user.
• Co-ordinate on site cabling and hardware installation duties, working with Core Network to ensure hardware is correctly deployed and connectivity is tested and reachable remotely.
• Survey shop premises for Wi-Fi & 4G coverage and capture other vital information required for the planning of future deployments of associated hardware and cabling for projects.
• Perform Pre Cable' and 'Pre deploy' duties in cases where circuits and client sites are yet to be delivered or readied by vendors.
• Troubleshoot/Investigate and rectify circuit connection errors & circuit/hardware down scenarios
• Perform Hardware upgrades on legacy equipment and re-cable as instructed.

You will be experienced in Cisco, VMWare, O365, Intune, Windows Server and Sophos.
You will need your own vehicle and an enhanced DBS will be carried out.

The role is paying circa £55,000pa depending on experience and is mostly remote based, you'd likely go on site a couple of times a month. To be considered for this role you will need to be an experienced 3rd line infrastructure engineer who in recent years has specialised in the Microsoft Stack, with specific expertise around Microsoft Azure including the technologies mentioned above. You will need to have good stakeholder management skills and have varied experience supporting project based IT modernisation.
