About the role
We have an opportunity for a Domestic Shift Manager to join our team at Churchill hospital on a 9 month FTC. This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday working various shifts between 6am and 9pm. The occasional weekend work may also be required when necessary.
As a Domestic Shift Manager you will ensure that all designated domestic services operate to the contract specifications under your direction, with nil or minimal KPI failures that could result in penalties. You will be expected to manage the cleaning activities of the Supervisors & frontline staff under your control, contribute to the audit process as directed and required using the Trust Synbiotix reporting syste
Responsibilities
Maintain high standards of cleanliness in line with the current Trust and national guidelines (at the time of this version this is the NCS 2021) which aims to reduce the risk of hospital acquired infection.
Implement and abide by the strict national colour coding system for cleaning within the health environment.
Ensure reporting staff complete tasks in line with agreed cleaning schedules & time frames.
Ensure sufficient qualities of consumables as per the G4S contract for all wards & depts.
Work closely with Trust designated personnel in wards & depts in relation to all cleaning matters.
Manage sickness, absence, annual leave in line with ROE Trust policies.
To ensure that all designated training is undertaken and recorded for the Domestic team for full, PT & agency staff working in conjunction with the Training/Audit Domestic Shift manager.
Ensure that all mandatory training is carried out supporting the Training/Audit Domestic Shift manager role.
All HR records and the training matrix must be kept up to date at all times working closely with the HR Advisor.
Set up Tool Box Talk folders for each department and ensure the monthly delivery is carried out.
Provide accurate information to the Senior Administrator for the monthly client report.
Support the Domestic Shift Manager - Training & Audits with their tasks making staff available for on-job training.
Support the collate of monthly audit cleaning scores for the client report from the SynbiotixTrust system.
To support the KRONOS Allocation Process and ensure all areas are covered with domestic operatives.
Undertake general administration to support the contract, ensuring all service standards are met.
Experience in basic IT systems to support the role G4S systems training given.
Essential
Good Health & Safety Knowledge- ideally IOSH Managing Safely.
Excellent knowledge and understanding of domestic services management processes to enable accurate allocation and prioritising.
Good quality management and audit skills.
Able to motivate and organise effectively with effective coordination of domestic teams.
Good communication skills – both written and verbal - and good team working skills.
Ability to approach problems and consider potential solutions.
Ability to work carefully, methodically and safely.
