Opportunity…
We are looking for an Information and Data Lead who will report into a Commissioning Manager and be responsible for having complete oversight of the information/data required to safety and effectively execute the Commissioning phase of the Hinkley Point C (HPC) project.

The first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years; HPC will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, and make a major contribution to the UK’s move to reduce carbon emissions.As the Commissioning Information and Data Lead, you will be required to be the leading figure of data and information management within Commissioning, and the single point of contact for the wider HPC project. You will be required to have knowledge of all Commissioning processes and associated information/data requirements, acting as the liaison to the wider project to ensure these requirements are met in line to the project objectives of safety, quality, time, and cost.

You will also take on the role as data steward for the Commissioning function which consists of the following responsibilities:


- Managing and approving the quality of data.
- Having oversight of the full roadmap of information flowing in and out of Commissioning.
- Supporting Data Owners in applying data management procedures.
- Monitoring and managing data quality, including raising issues.


You will have the unique opportunity to develop a broad understanding of all elements of the Commissioning Programme’s organisation and arrangements including the technical delivery. You will play a leading role in implementing a data centric approach to the Commissioning Programme and its interfaces into the wider HPC project.

As a Financial Controls Manager, you'll offer insightful analysis and commentary to both internal and external stakeholders. What you will be doing…

In this role, you’ll lead and coordinate the JDO Configuration team to deliver top-tier engineering support for the HPC Project on behalf of the Joint Design Office within the HPC Technical Directorate. - Serve as the primary contact within HPC for all configuration management processes, particularly as the technical liaison for Engineering Managers and Design Entities on configuration management topics.

Who you are…

To excel in this role, we’re looking for you to have a solid understanding of analysis tools and methods and know how to apply them effectively. Experience in process development is key, along with a good grasp of quality arrangements. You’ll need to be proactive in resolving Configuration Management issues, analysing data, and highlighting relevant concerns. Your ability to extract and compile data from various sources, maintain accurate and timely records, and identify opportunities for improving procedures, processes, and systems will be essential to your success in this role. Other experience we’re looking for includes:


- A degree in a relevant science or engineering field, or a strong technical background, is preferred.
- ICM CM2 certification or an equivalent qualification or experience is highly desirable.
- Experience in managing engineering documentation, including Redline Drawings and Work Pack management.

- In conjunction with Organisational Capability and HR, input into the development of the CommOps resourcing strategy and associated plans in line with the overall Programme Business Execution Plan (BEP), setting out how the delivery of resources will be managed, organised, and executed.

What you’ll be doing… The Turbine Technical Manager will report to the Turbine Area Engineering Senior Manager and be a senior leader with accountability for delivery of some of our most complex and impactful technical topics.
The Turbine Technical Manager will:

- Collaborate with the Turbine Area Engineering Senior Manager, CI Area engineering managers, Turbine Group PMs, and other stakeholders to identify, triage, and resolve high-risk technical issues.
- Lead the delivery of Turbine topics, setting and maintaining project expectations. Establish and manage the baseline for the Turbine delivery program with stakeholder support, maintaining a comprehensive overview of time and cost for the Engineering of the Turbine program.
- Report on Turbine topics such as Supplier Readiness, Design Open points, and other risks to HPC senior stakeholders through written reports and specific committees and meetings led by the Turbine Technical Manager.
- Ensure appropriate means to resolve cross-functional technical issues, achieving the best-for-project solutions with a schedule-conscious approach.
- Work with programs and technical teams to prioritise and address emerging scope topics, maximising delivery efficiency and value.

Who you are…


- A relevant degree in engineering or science, with chartered status.
- Extensive experience in the nuclear industry, including knowledge of nuclear safety cases and regulatory environments.
- Broad engineering experience across various disciplines (e.g., Mechanical, Civil, and Project). Expert-level knowledge is not required, but regular interaction with experts is expected.
- Proven ability to lead complex technical and commercial topics with multiple stakeholders, managing multi-million-pound budgets with a strong technical focus.
- Experience across the project lifecycle of complex EPC projects, including design, manufacture, construction/installation, commissioning, and preferably operations.

As a Training and Competence Manager for the EDF CommOps team, you will play a crucial role in preparing to commission and operate Hinkley Point C. Working closely with the Performance Improvement Team, your goal will be to create a safe environment where everyone can learn, improve, and grow. You will lead the Intelligent Customer team, conduct early analyses, identify requirements, and build roles necessary for both commissioning and station operations.

In this role, you will chair the people Training Advisory Committee (TAC), oversee the build of all commissioning and pre-operational training roles. A significant part of your responsibilities will involve developing and fostering relationships with the Nuclear Skills Alliance to ensure an integrated approach that meets business needs and results in a SQEP workforce. You will also lead the transition of licence conditions 9, 10, and 12 as we move towards commercial operation.

What you’ll be doing…


- Overseeing the development and implementation of significant competence and role-building activities to ensure that skills and competence needs are met within the quality, cost, and timelines required by the project schedule.
- Conducting detailed analyses of individual and team job competence requirements to ensure they align with specific line needs.
- Providing assurance to CommOps regarding the SQEP status of teams.

What you’ll be doing…

The Operational Development Engineer’s day-to-day activities will include, but not limited to:


- Plan, monitor and manage the activities, risks, and associated requirements relevant to the Pre-Operations activities assigned to them.
- Assess the design and equipment contract information for certain systems and station facilities to ensure they will deliver our aims of enhanced safety and performance during the operational phase.
- Provide input into the development of standards, procedures and arrangements which support safe and reliable plant operations.
- Provide input to the production of the HPC Operating Technical Specifications and Periodic Test procedures on behalf of Pre-Operations.

- Provide input to the management of Technical Issues with the potential to impact future plant availability.
- Research operating experience from the wider nuclear industry applicable to the HPC project and promote its use and application to achieve World Class performance.

The Opportunity...

At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.

Being part of the CommOps organisation, as Capability Lead, you will be responsible for the delivery of circa 650 competent and trained commissioning resources and will support pre-operations and future operations in meeting their resource needs. In executing capability activities, you will be required to ensure that all resources are delivered to schedule, within budget, and in compliance with relevant NNB HPC process and procedure.

You will play a key role in the delivery of the CommOps Capability Strategy, encompassing the key areas of, compensation, recruitment, onboarding, training, security, welfare, and retention. What you’ll be doing…


- In conjunction with Organisational Capability and HR, input into the development of the CommOps resourcing strategy and associated plans in line with the overall Programme Business Execution Plan (BEP), setting out how the delivery of resources will be managed, organised, and executed.
- Updating and maintenance of the resourcing element of the Medium-Term Plan (MTP), ensuring all CommOps resource needs are identified and planned.
- Defining the work scope to be delivered and the processes and procedures to be used to successfully achieve CommOps resource requirements.
- Driving delivery of the CommOps resourcing strategy, MTP and the associated tasks to ensure they are delivered safely on time, to budget and meet business requirements.
- Supporting the development of the CommOps resource plan ensuring alignment with the MTP and Nuclear Baseline.
- Working with other key stakeholders, contribute to the development of the various resource pipelines from EDF UK Commissioning, Existing Generation (from HR), Shareholder Partners, Alliance Partners.
- Proactively contribute to ensuring EDF’s and HPC’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I) objectives are met and that we foster an environment of inclusion.
- Supporting HR in development of development/succession plans for CommOps to ensure that all person’s next career steps are considered.
- Managing the interfaces applicable to delivery, including (not limited to), those with the Alliance Partners (AP), Related Party Companies (RPC), HR, HPC Resourcing Hub and the Security Vetting Team.
- Managing transitions of EDF station personnel and Pre-operations as a pipeline to commissioning and support the transition of personnel from CommOps into the Future Operations organisation.
- Managing and resolving issues associated with delivery of the resourcing strategy, plans and MTP.
- Implementing continuous improvements to the resourcing strategy, plans and associated processes and procedures, applicable to recruitment, onboarding, training etc, ensuring the most expedient and efficient method of delivery is adopted.
- Complying with applicable safety, environmental and quality standards, company procedures and policies and other relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.


Who you are…

Your background may include some of the following:

- Hold a degree in Human Resource Management or related field with a minimum 2-5 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Previous experience working and delivering in a dynamic and challenging environment, leading resourcing programmes on large infrastructure.
- Experienced in the delivery of activities associated with the identification (pipelining) or resources to provide resource assurance.
- Experienced in the development of process and procedures required to manage and control delivery of work scope, safely and to the required standard in quality.
- Knowledgeable in the development of delivery schedules and associated plans.
- Commercially aware with knowledge in the monitoring of budgets.
- Understanding the needs of quality and applicability of quality requirements associated with the delivery of competent and experienced resources.
- Experience of managing contractors, consultants, and other advisors in delivering complex projects.
- Good presentation, influencing and facilitation skills.

The Opportunity…
We are seeking an Electrical Commissioning Engineer, to join our growing HPC Commissioning Team, as part of its preparation to commission the first nuclear power station to be built in a generation at Hinkley Point C (HPC). Once operational, HPC will provide low carbon electricity to 6 million homes in the UK.

Engineers will normally be aligned to either HV, LV, DC or generator systems but will be expected to work across all electrical disciplines at times. This includes system voltages at 400kV, 10kV, 400VAC, 690VAC 220VDC and control voltages.

In your role, you will need to be able to work with plans and meet tight deadlines and will be acting under the direction of the Nuclear New Build (NNB) Commissioning Programme.

- Liaising with the Designer and Project Managers for electrical deliverables.
- Developing commissioning documentation relating to commissioning testing and system validation activities.
- Contributing to design reviews to ensure layout of plant items and systems are in a manner that allows ease of commissioning.
- Contributing to detailed planning of commissioning, and taking ownership of a programme of commissioning tests.
- Execution of site commissioning activities including supervision of contractor commissioning personnel, to achieve successful and safe commissioning of HPC systems.
- Analysing commissioning results and providing reports summarising the outcome of commissioning.
- Supporting HPC to ensure that the commissioning process meets nuclear, environmental and industrial safety regulatory requirements and that it reflects good industry practice in international safety and technical excellence.

- Degree qualified (or equivalent qualification or experience) in Electrical Engineering.
- Conversant and experienced with Electrical & Mechanical (E&M) safety rules.
- Experience with Work Order Card Specification/Approval within an Asset Management System.

What you will be doing…

The I&C systems at HPC are large, novel, and complex, incorporating three different technologies such as SPPA-T2000, all of which are new to the UK nuclear industry, along with dedicated I&C systems. The commissioning of each system on each platform will be done independently first, followed by testing the compatibility of the equipment to guarantee the future operability of the plant. Depending on the contract, your responsibilities will include:


- Working closely with our systems engineers from other disciplines (electrical, mechanical mainly) to support the commissioning of their equipment which can operate with a dedicated I&C (turbine, diesel, auxiliary boiler, ventilation, chillers and heaters etc)
- Commissioning equipment or organising the surveillance of the commissioning done by the supplier.
- Managing instrumentation, which is considered Level 0 (including pumps, valves, tank levels, transmitters, and more complex equipment such as nuclear instrumentation).
- Handling controllers, which run all field processes through hard-wired signals to the instrumentation.
- Overseeing Level 2 systems, mainly servers and workstations connected to controllers via plant buses, some of which are TCP-IP based.
- Focusing on Level 3, which involves data collection and interfacing from Level 2 systems to data historians and remote access to field systems.

Accountability, responsibility, and initiative to meet quality, schedule, and cost targets are crucial. Strong communication and organisational skills are required to build effective networks internally and externally. Additionally, you should foster team development, embrace challenges positively, and possess strong English language skills. In addition to this, we’re also looking for you to hold the below:


- A degree or HNC qualification in a relevant engineering discipline would be advantageous however, not essential.
- Extensive experience in the corresponding engineering field and/or commissioning experience.
- Proven ability to adapt successfully to new environments and large industries, ideally within the nuclear sector
- Strong understanding of the need for technical and administrative rigour in the nuclear industry
- Ability to focus and deliver results both independently and as part of a team, with the capacity to multitask across different I&C systems

At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.

EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is responsible for delivering the design for a number of NI buildings, systems and equipment contracts for the Hinkley Point C EPR Project through an integrated team, support to HPC construction and commissioning activities, and preparing design replication feasibility and engineering activities for the Sizewell C Project. Therefore, a Technical Directorate is being created, responsible for the engineering disciplines and technical expertise required to deliver the different engineering projects through integrated teams in EPR-E.

As an Electrical Engineer, you will serve as the local point of contact for managing topics related to electrical parts within the scope of works of the Responsible Designer for both BNI and CI/BoP (cable trays, cables, cabinets, sensors). These topics include handling field events such as clarification requests, adaptation requests, change requests, and non-conformance issues.

Who you are…

Your background may include some of the following:

- Science or Electrical engineering degree with experience in Electrical design.
- 5 years minimum in specification, design, procurement, and installation of electrical components.
- Excellent Interpersonal skills, conscientiousness, and quality awareness.
- Experience of producing technical documentation.
- Strong planning and organisational skills including the ability to manage several work streams simultaneously.
- Knowledge of RCC-E Code, 2D and 3D Design Software would be beneficial.
