Primary Job Scope:

Assisting Patent Attorneys on the following tasks:

- Drafting patent specifications

- Responding to Office Actions

- Prosecuting patent applications in Singapore and overseas

- Conducting searches

- Analysing and studying patent or scientific documents

- Providing patent-related advice to clients

Requirements:

• Candidates should have a good tertiary degree in one of the fields of ICT, computer science/engineering, chemistry, biochemistry, material science, or life sciences.

• An advanced technical qualification (MSc or PhD) and the completion of the Graduate Certificate in Intellectual Property Law, Graduate Diploma in IP and Innovation Management, or a Master of IP and Innovation Management will be advantageous but not required.

• Fresh entrants into the industry and candidates without experience are welcome to apply.

• Candidates should expect to invest time outside of work hours over a number of years to complete the required course work and pass the Patent Agents Qualifying Examination to qualify as a Registered Singapore Patent Attorney.

Job Scope:

Rendering paralegal support for the following:

· Taking instructions and liaising with clients on trade mark availability searches, analysing the searches and rendering opinions on availability and registrability

· Handling prosecution of trade mark applications in Singapore and overseeing the prosecution of trade mark applications overseas

· Advising on trade mark and design office actions from IPOS - drafting submissions to IPOS in response to office actions

· Instructing foreign agents and associates on the filing of trade mark and design applications abroad

· Overseeing the recordals of assignments and licenses for trade marks and designs

· Collation of material, preparation of documents, letters, emails and billing

· Entry and tracking of official deadlines

· Preparation and submission of official documents

· Files management for trade mark and design applications

Requirements:

· Candidates should have at least an "A" level with credit in English. Those with tertiary qualifications and entry level candidates with Diploma holder are welcome to apply

· A strong command of the English language is essential together with the ability to analyse, strategise and express oneself in writing

· Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook and have basic computing skills-Training will be provided

Job Description:

We are looking for dynamic candidates to join our expanding Disputes & Specialist Practice as Associates. The Practice currently has 5 specialist teams handling contentious and advisory healthcare, criminal, financial, data and technology, and international commercial arbitration matters.

Applicants should have 1 to 3 years’ PQE in disputes work, excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently and in teams, and a passion for litigation. Remuneration will be commensurate with the applicant’s practice experience.
