As Director of Safety and Security you will be responsible for the integration of Security, Medical and Fire operations across the Taymouth Castle club operations to provide a world class experience for members, guests and team members.
Leading an expanding team, this role reports directly to the Club General Manager.
Some Key Responsibilities
- Living and working near the project, this role provides hands-on and daily operational management.
- Ensure all members of the Safety team provide world class service to all members, guests and team members, achieving outwardly the impression of being a concierge style of operation.
- Coordinate and draft the Club’s Master Safety Plan for operations, policies and procedures regarding the Club’s safety and security.
- Identify club safety threats, hazards, risks, and vulnerabilities and develop mitigating strategies, while ensuring the Safety team maintains effective situational awareness.
- Proactively address any loss prevention or theft from Club premises.
- Assist and coordinate in researching and making recommendations regarding security technologies, equipment and facilities.
- Develop an effective and cost-efficient plan regarding Safety and loss prevention during the construction and operational phases of the Club development.
- Recruit, hire and train safety personnel as needed to maintain effective staffing levels during day to day operations and during peak times.
- Coordinate and support executive VIP members and guests, ensuring their comfort, safety and privacy. Implement a security programme that will ensure highest levels of confidentiality working within the parameters of the Scottish Country Access code.
- Oversee risk management and occupational health and safety to mitigate any risk associated with The Club activities during construction and transition to residential occupancy and special events.
- Provide command, control and coordination of any critical incidents that occur on property and ensure key Club and Corporate management are notified and updated. Work alongside local emergency service agencies, ensuring executive leadership and corporate leadership are informed of their involvement when working within the confines of the Club property.
- Develop, implement and train staff to address life safety issues to include natural hazards and fire prevention.
- Develop and implement an initial and sustained training programme to always ensure the readiness of club safety personnel.
- Oversee the club medical operations ensuring staff are integrated with club operations to ensure members and employees receive world class, concierge medical services as appropriate.
- Supervise internal investigations regarding security and safety on property and report findings to Club and Corporate Leadership.
- Work closely to support the Human Resources team with any employee issues and investigations.
- Develop and maintain key relationships with external stakeholders such as local and national Law Enforcement officials and other local law enforcement or medical providers.
- Conduct briefings prior to any major Club events on or off property.
- Conduct debriefs and after action reviews after major club events or incidents.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business or public safety domain preferred.
- Applicants will ideally have experience of either Executive Protection, prior Law Enforcement, Military or Hospitality at executive level.
- Site security and special event management experience.
- Knowledge of security systems management, including access control, CCTV and Ops Centre operations.
- Previous experience or a working knowledge of large property security options, hotel operations a plus.
- Experience of working with a local community would be an advantage as would the ability to forge relationships and build rapport.
- Excellent written and verbal English skills
- Professional, articulate and have the ability to use good, independent judgment and discretion.
- Ability to interact with all levels of management.
- Budget creation and management skills.
- Experience in building, training and motivating a security team and the development of governance and policy.
- Good driving record and the ability to maintain a UK driving license.
