As a Coventry City Council Desktop Support Analyst, you will be part of the End User Device team, where no two days look the same and you’ll be involved in a wide range of tasks supporting both internal and external customers.
Of particular emphasis is our work in digital inclusion with the #CovConnects programme. We are embarking on a new proof of concept programme, whereby we explore digital reuse, repair, and recycling for both Coventry City Council and partner devices, following circular economy approaches to reduce digital inequalities in Coventry. This programme will be vital to support the sustainability of the #CovConnects Device Bank and help Coventry tackle e-waste as part of our One Coventry values and involvement in the Coventry Climate Change Board.

What is the job role?2x Full time Fixed Term (12 months – externally funded) Desktop Support Analyst roles.
As a Desktop Support Analyst, you will be working with a team of experienced desktop analysts supporting corporate council staff, as well as working in partnership with external recycling partners, the NHS/ICB and Warwick Manufacturing Group. There is an expectation that site visits will be undertaken in this role when required, so a driving license is essential.

You will work in a demanding ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) service environment, ensuring completion of work to agreed quality and timescales. There is also the opportunity for further development by contributing to project implementation, such as SCCM, Intune, Office 365, warranty and repairs of digital devices and Windows 10/11 updates/roll outs.

Who are we looking for?We are looking for two motivated, passionate, and committed people to work in our End User Device team, who will provide support and on-going maintenance of the Coventry City Council estate, supporting awareness and engagement activities relating to digital recycling and the circular economy.
Prior experience working in a desktop support role is desirable, but most importantly you must be a logical thinker, have a desire to learn, and be a good communicator with excellent customer service skills. On the job training will be provided to enhance & grow your technical skillset.
You will be working alongside other IT and business teams to ensure all assets, access, security, and changes are consistently managed in line with Council policies.
Essential Skills
• Providing great service to stakeholders of all levels
• Good working knowledge of Windows 10/11, and Office 365
• Exceptional troubleshooting, diagnostic and triage skills
• Excellent communication & documentation skills
Desirable Skills
• Previous desktop support experience
• SCCM/Intune: imaging, software packaging & deployment
• Mobile Device Management experience
