The Role

To post-holder will be responsible for the day to day management of various service contracts. They will drive excellence through innovation and best practice service delivery, underpinned by strong record keeping that allows Bield to manage performance. They will be responsible for preparing and maintaining contract documentation, preparing and procuring tenders, managing and meeting contractors including visiting sites to ensure a quality service is received within budget and delivered on time.


The Candidate

This opportunity seeks a candidate with significant experience in the delivery of maintenance contracts and contractor management, preferably within housing or the public sector. Understanding of housing legislation and experience in using procurement and invoicing systems as well as repair/asset management systems are essential requirements for the role. You will need excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to liaise with contractors, customers, local staff, local authority departments and members of the public.

The successful candidate will have significant experience in a similar or related role and must have technical skills to understand drawings, specifications and to identify and assess risks. You will have a genuine interest in and an open, flexible approach to the promotion of excellent standards of care for older people, combined with analytical and problem solving skills to be able to advise on solutions.


Full driving licence and access to a roadworthy vehicle insured for business use are essential requirements of the role.

The Role

To post-holder will competently administer all service & compliance contracts on Bield’s Asset Management System. The Compliance Assistant duties include scheduling appointment visits and issuing tenant correspondence, monitoring progress against planned service programmes, recording/updating all service visit data, asset management, processing invoices as required, liaising closely with all members of Bield staff to ensure continuity of service.


The Candidate

This opportunity seeks a candidate with significant relevant experience in an administrative role within housing or similar service based sector. You will need excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to liaise with contractors, customers, local staff, local authority departments and members of the public.

The successful candidate will have good IT skills in word processing, spread sheets and asset management systems and ideally have experience in working with a computerised repair/asset management system. You will have the ability to provide highly effective administrative & organisational skills to effectively prioritise, plan and coordinate a workload across a variety of buildings in different locations as well as a genuine interest in and an open flexible approach to the promotion of excellent standards of care for older people.

Assistant: Retirement Housing with Meals in Airdrie

We are currently looking for a full time Assistant to work at our Retirement Housing with Meals development Broomfield Gardens on a temporary basis. Broomfield Gardens provides a Retirement Housing Service to tenants aged 60 and over, who wish to retain their independence, but want to leave the worries of repairs and looking after the garden to someone else. We are seeking the right person to join the team and help make this possible.

The successful candidate will benefit from daytime work and great work life balance as you help improve the lives of older people in Scotland.

Hours of employment are 35 hours per week, organised as follows:
Monday and Sunday from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.

Please note this is a fixed term post to cover an internal secondment and is expected to end on 31 March 2025.

The successful candidate will undertake a range of cleaning duties to ensure that internal communal areas are clean, hygienic and meet the standards expected by our tenants and visitors to the development. Assisting with meal preparations and helping tenants at meal times will be required

On occasion, the Assistant will be expected to clean vacant flats and/ or external pathways of the development and provide general and emergency assistance to tenants, as required. In addition you will respond to property emergencies, taking appropriate action when the Manager is off duty and providing cover for the development office as required.

The Role

The Investment Officer will provide an in-house technical support and design function in respect of the Investment programme and alterations to existing properties at all stages of a contract from inception to completion. The Investment Officer will have a lead responsibility in ensuring that the asset investment works align to Bield’s Strategic Asset Management strategy.



We aim, over time, to develop a team that will have operational flexibility in the future and therefore the successful candidate will be expected to participate in training and development to enable them to undertake activities to support with other aspects of the role as Bield may occasionally require.



The Candidate

This newly created role arrives at an important time for Bield. We are seeking a candidate with significant relevant experience in the delivery of building refurbishment and maintenance contracts as well as experience of producing technical information (eg drawings and tender documentation) for major repairs and replacement of building components.



Experience of organising and leading projects, technical skills required to prepare sketch designs, working drawings, specifications and to identify and assess risks, as well as sound knowledge and understanding of legislation within the construction industry are among the key requirements.

A skilled communicator, the successful candidate will liaise across a wide range of internal professional disciplines as well as external contractors, customers, local staff, local authority departments and members of the public.

Education to Degree Level in building surveying or Construction Management (or equivalent work experience in a relevant role) are essential requirements as well as a full driving licence with access to a vehicle and ability to take part in an on-call rota.
