Job Description:

Under the broad supervision of the Assistant Dean of Recruitment Experience, the Assistant Director of Recruitment Experience will manage the successful development and implementation of Berklee College of Music and Boston Conservatory at Berklee audition and interview processes and initiatives, including, but not limited to operational logistics and communications, all while giving particular consideration to the use of technology in streamlining and maintaining procedures as well as the development and enhancement of the recruitment experience. The Assistant Director provides world-class service and VIP treatment to all prospective students and their families through relationship building and counseling.

Audition Scheduling & Operation Logistics:

• Ensures the successful implementation of the Audition and Interview (A&I) program.

• Coordinates and oversees operations and personnel for on campus, on the road, and online A&I events.

• Creates and hosts online audition events using the Zoom Video Communications platform and collaborates with necessary Enrollment and Marketing team members.

• Serves as a primary technical resource in the department for online auditions and interviews.

• Assists with the scholarship auditions for special programs including various Berklee On The Road Events including scheduling and applicant outreach pre- and post- event.

• Develops training materials and conducts auditions and interview training for staff, temporary hires, and student employees.

• Assigns and supervises Student Workers, managing their time effectively.

• Data Reporting includes A&I ROI Reporting and Strategy e.g., Review rating evaluations, cost analysis, and matriculation assessments for in-person and online A&I.

• Other duties as assigned.

Audition Event Management and Facilitation:

• Creates A&I sites and time slots in Salesforce.

• Manages A&I databases and runs reports as needed.

• Prepares logistical details and materials needed for on-campus events; collaborates with various Enrollment and Marketing teams to ensure all preparatory work is completed prior to an event.

• Runs A&I Boston and Online events.

• Coordinates A&I follow-ups and communication with prospective applicants and related departments.  

• Utilizes area protocols and applicable technology to ensure all applicants, staff, faculty, student assistants, alumni and related-stakeholders have an optimal A&I experience

• Provides expert technical assistance during events for all those involved.

• Manages student office workers and supervises audition team student employees.

• Manages the catering and set-up for on-campus audition events, partnering with internal and external vendors.

• Other duties as assigned. 

Customer Service and Communication:

• Serves as one of the main points of contact for communication relating to the auditions component of the admissions process.

• Ensures that the highest level of service is provided to applicants with a view towards ensuring that their experience exceeds that of any competing institutions.

• Counsels applicants and their families on the expectations, format and content of the audition and interview portion of the application and how it relates to the full admissions process.

• Counsels students and their families regarding admissions eligibility, application procedures for scholarships, general financial aid information, housing and other pertinent topics via phone, email and in-person contact. Maintain familiarity with application, scholarship, financial aid, housing and Board of Admission processes, including technology resources, processing policies and correspondence procedures.

• Other duties as assigned. 

Knowledge and Skills Required/Preferred:

• Minimum 1-3 years of relatable experience preferred.

About the Role:
Under the general direction of the AVPGPP the Director of Global Programs and Partnerships (DGPP) will direct the development and implementation the GPP portfolio of partnerships, programs, events, and activities in support of the goals, objectives and strategies of Berklee Global and Academic Affairs (AA) divisions.

Specifically, the DGPP will oversee the global relationships and programs, including the Berklee Global Partnerships (BGP), Berklee on the Road (BOR) and Berklee Latino (BL); and partnerships and programs with whom Berklee holds memoranda of understanding (MOUs) and other partnership and program agreements. The Director will also manage program academic directors, faculty members, staff, alumni artists, consultants, temporary employees and student travelers; and supervise the Assistant Director of GPP (AD/GPP); works collaboratively with the recruitment leadership team to support the comprehensive enrollment strategy (CES).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Leads Global Partnerships and Programs area operations, managing the portfolio of Berklee Global Partnerships (BGP), Berklee on the Road (BOR), Berklee Latino (BL) and other global educational partnerships and programs.

● Supports the planning and leads implementation of all aspects of Global Partnerships and Programs.
● Supports the development of Global Partnerships and Programs contracts and agreements.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
● Bachelor’s degree with 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in higher education and/or performing arts management.

Position Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Student Aid Awarding, the Senior Assistant Director is responsible for reviewing and assessing student financial aid application data and determining student eligibility for appropriate federal, state and institutional financial aid.  The Senior Assistant Director is responsible for verifying the accuracy of application data in accordance with federal regulations and institutional policy and making adjustments to packages where warranted based on such reviews, changes in enrollment status, receipt of additional aid from any source, and other factors necessitating changes. The Senior Assistant Director advises, counsels,  and provides information about financial aid and financing options to students and their families, both before they are admitted and while they are enrolled.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Review, process, and awards funds, including all applicable institutional, federal, state,  and external funding to eligible students.
• Determine changes in student eligibility upon receipt of additional information, including subsequent ISIRs, receipt of additional aid, and changes made through verification, professional judgment, or receipt of additional information.
• Ensure compliance standards are met for federal and state financial aid programs; conforming to federal, state, and institutional policies, procedures and regulations.
• Responsible for maintaining current, working knowledge of frequently used systems, especially PowerFAIDS, Colleague, and CampusLogic, through regular review of relevant sections of user guides.
• Works with prospective students and families to understand the cost and available financial options available to them.
• Counsel “at risk” students on financing options to help with retention.
• Make adjustments to authorized aid  throughout the enrollment cycles for all campuses, including credit cuts and canceling aid for non-enrolled students.
• Represent Student Financial Service at open houses and other events.
• Knowledge of financial aid awarding and financial aid processing preferred.

Job Description:

The Associate Director of Student Employment will be part of a transformational career services team. The Career Center’s mission is to advance student success by providing a robust Berklee network, coordinated career resources, and enriching experiential opportunities that help students as they define, develop and realize their artistic, creative, and career potential with greater intention and success.

The Associate Director of Student Employment will be a key ambassador for all aspects of the campus-wide Berklee Student Employment program and a representative of the Career Center. Responsibilities include managing the daily operations for all student employment administration, policies, and procedures. Works directly with staff, faculty, and students on issues pertaining to the Student Employment Program at the College and Conservatory. Helps to implement changes and improvements to office policies and procedures. Primary collaborators include the Human Resources, Student Financial Services, Technology Resources, International Student Services, and Finance teams.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversees the campus-wide student recruiting, hiring, and onboarding process to ensure customer expectations are met and/or exceeded and the program remains compliant with state and federal labor laws.

• Assists in providing consultation to departments on topics ranging from job creation, employee performance issues, as well as recruitment. Provides expertise and guidance to departments in adding new positions. Reviews and edits job descriptions where appropriate, ensuring that federal regulations are met, and finalizes hourly wages based on job responsibilities.

• Advises students and student employment supervisors regarding student employment related issues and opportunities, including appeals concerning student employment eligibility.

• Oversees all matters related to the biweekly student payroll process, ensuring the office is providing accurate and timely information and documentation to the Payroll Department. Ensures that all data entry is completed, and provides assistance to staff, faculty or students to enter and approve time. 

• Monitors, tracks and verifies that biweekly hours for all students comply with the institutional and federal student employment policies. Primary contact for the Payroll office in the event of any issues.

• Regularly monitors the eligibility of students, including GPA and credit registration, social security, and Visa status.

• Oversees the process for verifying employment eligibility using E-Verify, ensuring student information is accurate and students are eligible for employment.

• Responsible for compiling all information regarding new policies and procedures, changes and updates made to the various Student Employment initiatives and working with the student employment team to communicate this information via email and online.

• Oversees the procedures for all student employment initiatives developed and maintained by this department, including but not limited to the Berklee-funded Student Employment, On-Campus Federal Work-Study Program and the Community Service Learning Program.

• Primary contact for the Office of Community & Government Relations in regards to the Community Service Learning requirements for the Federal Work-Study program. This includes job posting and recruitment, federal budget monitoring, student eligibility verifications.

• Project lead for technology system utilization (Workday, FileMaker, Colleague, PowerCampus). Acts as program representative for committees pertaining to changes or maintenance of systems.

• Collaborates with other Career Center team members in the development and maintenance of student skills and success workshop programming.

• Engage with CSS student employees for training, collaborative projects, events and programming.  

• Collaborates in developing and delivering training for faculty and staff supervisors.

• Oversees student recognition activities, including the student employee of the year awards during National Student Employee Week, and institution-wide student employee performance evaluation.

• Assists in hosting orientation presentations for incoming students.

• Maintains active membership with NSEA and related organizations.

Job Description:

The Associate Director is a key member of the front-line Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR), team, responsible for supporting the college’s efforts to build philanthropic relationships with national and local foundations, corporations, and government agencies. The Associate Director supervises the Assistant Director and works with the Senior Director to identify and evaluate prospects, write proposals, LOIs, concept papers, and other solicitation materials, provide a high-level of stewardship to current donors through quality written reports and related communications, and conduct outreach to CF prospects and donors through networking events, phone calls, meetings, and visits. S/he will conduct direct solicitations to meet established goals for securing philanthropic support for Berklee programs and initiatives. The ideal candidate will have at least two years or more of relevant work experience and an established record of success securing funding from foundations and corporations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Write and edit proposals, reports, LOIs and other materials for submission of project-based and initiative-based grant applications to foundation, corporate, and government funders
• Provide timely and compelling reports to existing funders
• Supervise the Assistant Director of CFR, providing direction and support to ensure annual goals for performance and professional growth are met
• Use industry-standard resources, such as Foundation Center Directory, to research and identify funding opportunities; work closely with the Assistant Director to proactively manage research/prospect pipeline for CFR
• Prepare proposal budgets and budget narratives in collaboration with the finance office and program staff
• Interact effectively with campus leaders and program staff, as well as with foundation and corporate representatives to ensure successful proposal submissions
• Stay conversant with emerging philanthropic trends and best practices in foundation and corporate giving; recommend new ideas as appropriate to enable the team to creatively secure funding
• Exercise good time management, critical thinking and sound judgment to prioritize projects and identify viable opportunities to pursue funding
• Assist major gifts and stewardship teams in the development of proposals and stewardship reports for individual donors when appropriate (for example, for donors who give through a family foundation)
• On occasion, and at the direction of the AVP of Institutional Advancement, draft, edit, and proofread written materials and correspondence for the IA office

Knowledge and Skills Required:

• At least 5 years of experience in advancement or nonprofit administration, and a record of success in securing gifts from foundations, corporations, and individuals through effective proposal writing

Under the supervision of the Director of International Student Services and Study Abroad, the Associate Director for Study Abroad has primary responsibility for oversight of the enrollment of the Berklee Study Abroad program in Boston. The Associate Director provides leadership by supervising program enrollment operations, developing and implementing policies and procedures, building collaborations between key departments across both campuses (Boston and Valencia), with participating schools, and with key external constituents, and establishing priorities that lead to enhancing the overall study abroad experience, all in support of the college’s mission and strategic initiatives.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Recruitment & Marketing

• Responsible for meeting enrollment goals for the study abroad program
• Develops and manages recruitment campaigns
• Leads and facilitates events aimed at fostering interest in study abroad, preparing students for departure, and supporting students with re-entry, in collaboration with other student services departments across the college. Events include Orientation Programs, Information Sessions, Family Weekend, Majors/Minors Fairs, and Pre-Departure Meetings at Berklee and at participating schools
• Develops content for the study abroad website and other program materials and communications including announcements, events, newsletters, and social media
• Works collaboratively with the Assistant Director for Marketing, Senior Marketing Coordinator, and Enrollment Technology Manager in Valencia to develop and implement marketing strategy, standard communication plan, and technology platforms, ensuring that the college’s enrollment targets are being supported 

Admissions & Advising

• Oversees management of applications in Salesforce, builds and maintains reports, and works with Enrollment Technology Manager to solve any issues that arise
• Advises students, parents, faculty, and staff in every aspect of study abroad, including applications, financial planning, academics, student visas, health insurance, safety, housing, and general policies and procedures
• Establishes and maintains relationships with other areas at the college, across both campuses, ensuring a smooth process for all students throughout their study abroad experience (e.g., Registrar, Academic Advising, Disability Services, Student Financial Services, Health and Wellness, Housing, and Academic Departments)
• Supports Divisional Deans and Major Chairs in planning curriculum and advising models based on students’ academic needs, advising students on when to study abroad, and helping them plan their courses in Valencia

 

Enrollment Operations & Program Development

• Develops program goals and learning outcomes and leads assessment and evaluation efforts.
• Works collaboratively with Boston Conservatory at Berklee Deans and Chairs, as well as Valencia administration to explore possibilities for BCB students to study in Valencia
• Serves as lead partner for the development of re-entry programming for Berklee First-Year Abroad students
• Develops and maintains the study abroad budget; oversees office planning and special projects
• Supports the Director in leading the study abroad operations committee (includes staff from diverse areas across both campuses), advising on current enrollment, priorities, and/or concerns, and ensuring that all program needs and goals are being supported
• Provides guidance and support to the study abroad student employees in leading overall program operations
• Participates in international education conferences and researches industry trends to keep up to date on current study abroad issues, support services, and financial/academic opportunities for students
• Supports the Director in assessing the Study Abroad program operations
• Works closely with the Spanish consulate, provide advice and support to study abroad and first year abroad students applying for a Spanish student visa. 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5 years of progressively responsible experience in study abroad/international education management and/or advising, 
• Demonstrated ability to successfully work with students, parents, faculty, and staff in a culturally diverse environment
• Experience studying, living, or working abroad

Reporting to the Senior Director of Academic Technology Facilities, the Director of Lab Operations is responsible for the planning, management, and oversight of all technology lab and technology classroom operations. The Director provides leadership for the department, including resource and technology support planning and allocation, evaluating and improving processes, budget forecast and development, and infrastructure and technology development. They also provide leadership for the department staff, directly supervising 4 managers with a department team of 7-8 FT and PT staff and about 50 student employees. The Director works with the Senior Director of ATF and Chief Engineer on technical maintenance duties and upgrade installations. The 24 technology classrooms and labs are in operation 8-16 hours per day, seven days per week and serve thousands of music technology students, faculty, visiting artists, events, major residencies, special programs, college service and community outreach projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Recruits, hires, supervises and leads 3 Lab Managers and 1 Equipment Manager

● Responsible for the functional integrity (technical and physical), organization and general appearance of technology classrooms and labs, office/work spaces and storage areas.

● Coordinates with the Senior Director of Academic Technology Facility, Chief Engineer and Associate Chief Engineer of Academic Technical Maintenance the design, planning, budgeting and implementation of physical and technical upgrades.

● Responsible for day to day operations including; maintenance, functionality, access, safety, and security of all technology lab facilities.

● Manage and track technology lab equipment inventory. Interface with the Property Control Coordinator.

● Manage communications between Studio Support, Booking, Studio Maintenance, Studio Assistants and Computer Support to ensure an effective and immediate flow of information as it pertains to Lab Operations.

● Collaborates with Department Chairs to support curricular needs and projects.

● Coordinate with Senior Director, Academic Technology Facilities, Senior Chief Engineer/Senior Director of Academic Technical Maintenance and appropriate TTS staff in the design, planning, budgeting and implementation of physical and technical upgrades to lab facilities prior to each semester break.

● Designs, creates and modifies fair and effective policies and protocols to ensure the smooth operation of the department. Enforces regulations and policies pertaining to the proper use of facilities.

● Management of Fiscal Year purchases, operating budget and facility improvement projects from inception to round up of final budget process.

● Assists the Senior Director with producing and implementing policies and regulations at the divisional level.

● Mediates conflicts between staff, faculty and students.

● Coordinates facility tour requests, delegates to appropriate staff.

● Works with the Public Safety to ensure the security of Academic Technology facilities, the assigning and distribution of card-reader access, and keys to facilities, cabinets, and storage spaces.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

● Minimum 7 years of directly related, music technology background.

● BA degree in music technology or commensurate professional experience.

The Senior Director provides visionary leadership by setting and implementing editorial policies, fostering a unified brand voice, and strategically developing and managing all editorial content and publications. This encompasses a diverse range of print and digital platforms, including Berklee.edu, Berklee Now, Berklee Today (alumni magazine), and the Sounds of Berklee podcast. With a keen focus on storytelling, the Senior Director plays a pivotal role in reinforcing Berklee’s impact and reputation in music, the performing arts, higher education, and beyond.

In addition to overseeing the editorial strategy and vision, this role will continuously identify improvement opportunities, establish target audiences, management of content calendars, and set and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure the achievement of success metrics.
