We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and experienced clinical pharmacist with demonstrable skills in Antimicrobial Stewardship and Infection Management to join our pharmacy team. The Cellular Pathology and Cancer Diagnostics Division provides diagnostic and screening services across East and South-East London, handling a combined workload of 120,000 histology and 15,000 cytology specimens annually. An exciting opportunity has arisen within the NHS East and Southeast London Pathology Partnership (ESEL). We are seeking a driven, proactive, and dynamic leader to take on the role of LGT Cellular Pathology Operational Lead. The successful candidate will be based at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich, and University Hospital, Lewisham. The Operational Lead will be responsible for overseeing and managing the Cellular Pathology Departments at each site. Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, day-to-day workload management, staff and skill mix management, equipment management, safety systems oversight, quality assurance and improvement, incident management, and change management. The Cellular Pathology Manager will provide support for this role.
Current HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist and possession of an MSc in Biomedical Science or an equivalent qualification at the MSc level are essential. Meeting these criteria is mandatory and must be clearly indicated in the application.

The NHS East and South East London Pathology Partnership  is an arms-length organisation providing pathology services to Barts Health NHS Trust, Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust.  The Pathology Partnership is hosted by Barts Health.

The Pathology Partnership is based on well-established models for pathology networks, with the Royal London Hospital becoming the main hub laboratory for the network and Essential Service Laboratories (ESL) as a minimum at all other Hospital sites.

Pathology is made up of the following services - Blood Sciences including Haematology, Blood Transfusion and Biochemistry; Infectious Diseases including Microbiology and Virology; Cellular Pathology including Histopathology, non-gynae Cytology and mortuary services; Immunology; Cytogenetics and Molecular Haematology; Immunophenotyping; Clinical Transplantation and Retinoblastoma.

Senior Pharmacy Education and Training Pharmacy Technician / Production Technician for Aseptic Services

An exciting opportunity has come up for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to work as Senior Pharmacy Education and Training Technician / Production Technician for Aseptic Services within the training department at Bart’s Health NHS Trust, Pharmacy Technical Services (PTS).

PTS is a licensed manufacturing unit with three sites, Royal London Hospital which is based at Whitechapel, St. Barts Hospital and Whipps Cross Hospital.

The post holder will be responsible for the training and supervision of SMT trainees and rotational staff within the production areas. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that all training documentation is current and updated in a timely manner in line with MHRA (Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency) audits and internal reviews.

Applicants must hold a NVQ BTEC Level 3 in pharmaceutical Science Registered with Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)

or Science Manufacturing Technician (SMT) Level 3 or a relevant Science degree registered with the required Regulatory body.

Our Clinical Fellow posts are intended to provide experience in Paediatric Emergency Medicine in a major trauma centre. They are aimed at Emergency Medicine or Paediatric trainees, looking to gain further experience in Paediatric Emergency Medicine. Our clinical fellow posts come with dedicated time to pursue an area of interest, with 20% of the job plan allocated to the Fellow’s special programme activity. The successful candidate will join a highly motivated, consultant led team delivering high quality emergency care to East London. The department receives a full range of emergencies from the local area in addition to major trauma from North East London and Essex with a total of 180,000 patients seen each year including 40,000 paediatric patients.

The post includes registrar level duties in the paediatric emergency department working on a full shift rota. Clinical duties are supported by 24/7 consultant presence, senior training registrars and a team of junior doctors and practitioners.

Candidates must hold full registration with the GMC with a licence to practice.

Applications are invited for a locum replacement Consultant Cellular Pathologist / Histopathologist post in the Department of Cellular Pathology at Barts Health NHS Trust. The appointment is to provide Histopathology reporting within Gynaecological Pathology for Barts Health and the other hospitals for which we undertake service provision.
