The role
As a CS&A Engineer you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. CS&A Engineers at Cavendish Nuclear support the UK's nuclear decommissioning, power generation, new build and defence markets, with a proven track record in delivering exciting, complex and innovative solutions.
Day to day, you'll be part of a dynamic team undertaking bespoke and innovative designs of reinforced concrete, steel and masonry structures across all aspects of the nuclear life cycle, from initial concept and scheme design, through engineering and detailed design and build, operations and maintenance, to decommissioning, waste management and remediation. This is particularly unique within a consultancy environment and what makes our projects and work so rewarding.
- Delivery Nuclear design work, inspections and construction site support on projects for a range of public and private sector clients within the UK and overseas. Work encompasses the full lifecycle of a project.
- Concept and Feasibility studies for multi discipline design projects.
- Analysis and Design using engineering software such as Tekla and Robot as well as producing hand calculations.
- Prepare Calculations, CDM activities, Basis of Design, Material Specifications, Scopes of Work, Technical reports, Inter discipline design coordination.
- Liaise with Technicians in the preparation of Revit models.
- Work with integrated multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high profile projects.
- Ensure all work to be carried out with a positive attitude toward safety, both in design and in the office environment.
This role is a full time and permanent position, 37 hours per week and will be based at our Bristol or Warrington site with hybrid working from home arrangements.
Agile working may be available to employees in some instances, applying the principles of fairness and consistency whilst ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met. Essential experience of the CS&A Engineer
- Has an awareness and experience of using the latest design codes and standards.
- Has an understanding of the relevant legal and regulatory standards.
- Previous experience in the design of structures in reinforced concrete and/or steel
- Previous experience within the nuclear industry
Qualifications for the CS&A Engineer
- Degree Qualified (BEng or MEng), Civil / Structural Engineer
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer with membership of ICE or IstructE,or working towards.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
