The role
As a Buyer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. We are looking for a Procurement & Supply Chain professional to our join our P&SC function supporting operations within our Mission Systems Sector.
Day-to-day, you'll provide support to the Babcock Supply Chain in the provision of Goods and/or Services.
- Prepare, issue and review supplier RFQ's, recommending preferred options to the relevant stakeholders
- Converting purchase requisitions to purchase orders and issuing to suppliers, negotiating appropriate T&C's for the protection of the organisation
- Manage and develop supplier relationships
- Pro-active supplier order book management activities
This role is full time, thirty-seven hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with two days in the office/onsite and three days working from home.
Agile working may be available to employees in some instances, applying the principles of fairness and consistency whilst ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met. Essential experience of the Buyer
- Procurement experience, ideally in an operational procurement environment
- Experience with ERP Systems, SAP is highly desirable
- Experience in sourcing new materials and services
Qualifications for the Buyer
- A recognised degree level qualification and/or relevant engineering/supply chain/lean culture experience
- Membership of a relevant professional body e.g. CIPS at level 4 or above is desirable
