The role
As a Civil Standards Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. The successful candidate will be a key player in ensuring our company complies with the Railway Group and Network Rail Company Standards, and legislation, whilst preventing catastrophic risk.
Day-to-day, you'll provide assistance and assurance to the Professional Head of Design and Engineering Compliance, whilst also being responsible for:
- Interfacing and maintaining liaison with key clients.
- The Promulgation of review findings to all the Rail Division's offices whose activities may be materially affected.
- Assisting in the provision of technical support to the Rail Division to enable an assessment of the commercial impact of review findings and for technical recommendations
- Managing the review and approval of discipline specific Procedures and Work Instructions.
- Participating in the identification and development of new Procedures and Work Instructions.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with one day in the office/onsite and four days working from home.
Agile working may be available to employees in some instances, applying the principles of fairness and consistency whilst ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met. Essential experience of the Civil Standards Engineer
- Railway technical experience
- Knowledge of operational railway and associated safety matters
- Experience and knowledge of Track Renewals techniques
- Experience developing a client relationship
- Leadership skills and experience
Qualifications for the Civil Standards Engineer
- HND or equivalent in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
- Auditor qualification/training (desirable)
