As a semi skilled Production Operator you will be working in all areas of production which will include programming computer software, use of heated print press with the possible use of CNC machinery.

Candidates will need to be confident in using IT systems, ideally have manufacturing or similar experience willing to learn and have a flexible approach to work.

VNA and CMM Technician

Location: Newton Abbot

Temporary to Permanent

Salary: £26,000 - £35,000 per annum dependent on experience

Hours - Monday to Friday - 39 hours

Acorn by Synergie is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced VNA and CMM Technician to join our client's dynamic team in Newton Abbot. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hardworking individual who is passionate about precision engineering and enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Assist the quality team, utilising the VNA tester.
• Assisting with CMM programming and utilising the CMM to assist production activities.

Opportunity for progression:

• Managing technical documentation, reviewing all drawings and specifications to meet customer requirements.
• Assisting in the development and testing of prototypes.
• To assist production and engineering team to manage and execute production projects.
• Liaise with the engineering team on all production requirements and capabilities for any new projects.
• Assist in implementing and maintain SOP's.
• Assist the sales department to ensure contract reviews are carried out in a timely and accurate manner.
• Assist in BOM reviews.
• Assist in all mechanical design activities. Working alongside engineering to ensure all data, information and specification sheets are adhered to and communicated through to production and quality.

Rate of pay:

£15.27 per hour plus overtime and bonus


This role operates within sheet-metal production areas and will typically involve:

* Operating spot welders
* Loading and unloading piercing machines
* Folding items on a mechanical brake press
* Using mechanical hand tools to process and finish products


Main duties will include:

* Adherence to all Health and Safety rules and requirements
* Carrying out basic machine set-up
* Operating machines to produce required parts within specified time limits
* Using jogs and measuring equipment to carry out and record quality-checks
* Carrying out basic planned maintenance activities
