Job Summary
Under general supervision serves as in-house consultant who is responsible for developing, directing and or performing analytical and planning functions in support of managerial decision-making. Conceptualizes, develops, and implements decision support strategies utilizing available business intelligence applications. Serves as a project manager in support of expanding service lines, new service development, and broad strategic alignment initiatives with 3rd parties. Employs advanced analytical techniques in financial, economic, and decision-support theory; and long-range, comprehensive perspectives
Minimum Job Qualifications
Licensure or other certifications:
Educational Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Finance, Decision Science, Accounting, or Business Management.
Minimum Experience: Five (5) to seven (7) years operational and financial analysis within the healthcare environment or or an equivalent combination of education and training to successfully perform the essential functions of the job; combined with demonstrated growth and achievement.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
Continuously works to ensure the value of the decision support systems to NGHS in the development and enhancement of the organization's strategic objectives. Identifies opportunities for quality improvement, cost containment and improved reimbursement, makes recommendations for improvements and proactively pursues the implementation of these recommendations. Assumes an active role in the development and analysis of critical paths and case management encompassing the continuum of care throughout the organization. Evaluates utilization patterns for product lines or specific patient groups and works with clinical personnel and physicians to determine the appropriateness of the patterns and to identify areas for improvement in the delivery of care to patients. Serves as a member of the solution center team and provides assistance and expertise in special projects delegated to the team.
Prepares various financial reports to be reviewed and used by internal management as well as in support of strategic initiatives. Prepares financial analyses of proposed new services, models new business lines, and for strategic 3rd party initiatives. Analyzes existing services, to determine their on-going financial feasibility and maximize revenue, recommends modification or termination if necessary.
Serves as a primary project management resource for key initiatives focused on NGHS's strategic growth plan. Maintains flexibility in work assignments to support operational and executive sponsors in the creation and management of detail project plans. Reports major milestone completion dates and provides timely communication about project status and deadlines. Coordinates resources across the organization to ensure all project tasks are assigned and are given appropriate focus.
Performs various functions required for the overall efficiency of the hospital. Assists in implementation of various accounting, budgeting and patient accounting functions when required or requested by division or department heads. Attends seminars beneficial to the understanding and applications of the decision support or the cost accounting function. Performs other duties as assigned.
