What you will do

Under general direction, responsible for the design, configuration, and operation of complete building control systems including fire, security, and other low voltage control sub-systems (i.e., lighting, nurse call, data networks, etc.) to meet the intent of the project requirements.  Accountable to field teams for quality, timeliness and efficiency of designs.  Develops complex software programs, commissioning and troubleshooting to ensure proper operations of the building control system. Provides detailed information and submittals to communicate design and operation to customers, consultants, Johnson Controls field installation team and subcontractors

Selects, orders, and tracks the delivery of materials for assigned projects.  Coordinate’s factory-mounting processes to meet factory and project schedule.

Assists in the loading and commissioning of all system and network-level controllers as required. Assists in validation of complete system functionality and troubleshoots problems with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation.

Provides field change information to the project team for the creation of as-built drawings and software.

Keeps management and JCI contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues.

Assists in performing site-specific training for owner / operator on the total building control system.

Participates in release meeting with project field team. 

Performs value engineering to provide cost effective results while maintaining customer satisfaction. May provide work direction to Systems Design Assistants. Adheres to safety standards. High degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety

What we look for

Required

Degree in Mechanical/Electrical engineering or equivalent experience.

Prefers someone with a Mechanical/Electrical degree even if no experience.

Demonstrated knowledge of the construction industry or HVAC industry.

Experience working with building low voltage systems.

Ability to relate technical knowledge to a non-technical audience.

Demonstrated advanced computer skills required, particularly computer-related drafting tools.

Open to a recent graduate with a Mechanical or Electrical engineering degree.

Preferred

BA Degree in Engineering.

What you will do

We are hiring a Market Cash Leader in our business center. This individual works in a multi-disciplinary team of other peers and is responsible for report development and preparation, analysis, preparing the input to financial presentations and other projects requested.  This function acts as the analytical engine of the company to provide insights and support ‘optimal’ business decision making.

The Market Cash Leader assists the Regional Controller and the Regional Management Team in driving business results (Trade Working Capital targets). Coordinates the planning and reporting of financial results consistent with long-term business objectives.  Provides training, counseling, and support to Regional Teams on a wide variety of business/financial issues to ensure adequate internal controls and satisfactory performance. The Market Cash Leader reports into the BT & S, Finance Organization and works closely with the BT & S operations and finance staff across Johnson Controls.

How you will do it

Finance Partner

• Schedules AR Calls to follow up and drives activities to close out open items.

• Assigns ownership as required to close out disputes.

• Researches and identifies key drivers on the top negative cash flow jobs in every Branch team.

• Researches and identifies key drivers on the under billed jobs in every Branch team.

• Monitors legal collections, particularly with any local outside council.  Provides a status summary to the Regional Cash Leader and Finance Director.

• Assists the Regional Cash Leader and Finance Director in conducting Trade Working Capital financial performance reviews.  The review will include DSO, Under Billed metrics, Aged AR and Collection performance.  Identifies root causes impacting performance.

• Prepares and reports on the status of disputes in the Area, including time to resolve, and the identification of root causes.

• Completes a quarterly audit on Accounts Payable to ensure we are not paying early.

• Working with the Regional Cash Leader and Finance Director, establishes collection goals to achieve Trade Working Capital targets.

• Identifies barriers impacting cash collections.  Working with the Regional Cash Leader and Finance Director, proposes solutions including recommended training.

• Reviews monthly financial results and business metrics for the region. Identifies issues and proposes corrective actions to the Regional Controller.

• Assists with monthly regional performance reviews including reviewing the backlog of work, balance sheet, income statement and cash flow.

• Identifies best business practices and facilitates the propagation of these practices to other regions.

• Minimum a bachelor’s degree (Accounting / Finance Preferred)

What you will do        

Under direct supervision, tracks and provides direct support for the planned service agreement renewal process. Actively participates in accounts receivable activities such as collections and new customer authorizations. Provides back up customer call handling, as needed. Provides administrative, day to day support in the service operational areas.

How you will do it

1. May be responsible for the scheduling, tracking, and monitoring of the touch point plans and the contract renewal life cycle process with the account owners. Escalate issues to appropriate individuals for timely follow-up as required. May require direct interaction with customers for follow-up to secure purchase orders or to meet special invoicing conditions. 

2. Updates the Service delivery plans as required by team. 

3. Runs query reports, researches, and reconciles unaligned costs, such as labor hours, material purchases, expenses and other service-related transactions. 

4. May prepare and submit service billings in a special invoice format as defined by individual customer account special handling requirements. 

5. Reconciliation of accounts payable exceptions as necessary. 

6. Researches, resolves, or escalates accounts receivable disputes as outlined in the escalation process. Works with Accounts Receivables contact to assist with resolution of truck-based team A/R issues. Determines appropriate actions for timely resolution. If needed, will interact with Customer to resolve receivable issues. Processes invoice credits and re-bills, as necessary. Proactively contacts customers ensure customer satisfaction and a commitment to pay. 

7. Updates and retains customer account information related to special billing conditions, tax status, invoice approval contacts, billing addresses and special billing rates up to date. 

8. Support inventory control process including updating equipment asset transactions. 

9. Assist CSAs in resolution of warranty/SD warranty issues. 

10. Provide additional service administration support, as required.

What you will do 

 
Perform HVAC Control systems programming, troubleshooting, installation, commissioning, and preventative maintenance as it is related to mechanical, electrical, and low voltage controls components. 

 
Respond to service and warranty calls using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools as well as a variety of hand tools including electrical testing meters and other electronic testing equipment.

What you will do

Under general supervision, conducts preventive maintenance, repair, installation, general servicing and troubleshooting of mechanical HVAC systems. Responsible for high levels of customer satisfaction through direct, on site, customer interface. Mentors peers on mechanical HVAC installation & service activities. Properly completes required project and service documentation.

Apprentices are governed by the local union agreement and they will perform all pneumatic control systems and mechanical equipment service and all other work coming under this Agreement assigned by the Employer, limited only by their capabilities as determined by the Employer, at the respective apprentice rate of pay, and shall perform all assigned work under the direction of the Employer.

Routine service and inspections, regardless of size or location of the HVAC mechanical equipment being inspected or serviced, where this work is done as a periodic and routine procedure by the Employer, such as:

• Change and service filters
• Oiling and greasing
• Adjust or replace belts
• Clean cooling towers, coils, evaporator and condenser tubes and general housekeeping
• Mechanical systems operation under contract with customer
• Cleaning and routine maintenance of solar energy equipment
• Indoor Air Quality related work including duct systems and drain pans

What we look for
Required

• Must be an existing local union 486 apprentice.

• Vocational School four-year program or an Associate degree in mechanical systems, air conditioning or similar field
• Three years of industry experience or five years of experience in servicing mechanical systems in the HVAC industry
• Generally required knowledge includes mechanical HVAC systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques
• Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent Johnson Controls to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner
• Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people
• Leadership skills to support the activities of Mechanics working on non-complex, non-critical mechanical HVAC equipment on a job site

This is a Bargaining Unit Position but is subject to all pre-hiring screening of JCI. What you will do

• Documents changes and provides information for as-built documentation.

• Communicates with the JCI contractor or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site.

• Follows all safety standards and attends required safety training.  High degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.

What we look for

Required

• Vocational School four year program or an Associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning or similar field plus three years of industry experience or 3+ years experience in servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.

• Generally required knowledge includes HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques. 

• Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent Johnson Controls to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner. 

• Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people.  Leadership skills to support the activities of Mechanics working on non-complex, non-critical Building Automation equipment on a job site. 

• PC experience required and the ability to program HVAC related software.
