About the Opportunity

We are currently seeking multiple Aircraft Maintenance Engineers to join our Richmond based maintenance team in a permanent full time position.

Airbus in Australia Pacific is the leading contractor for the RAAF fleet of 12 C130J Hercules transport aircraft.

Our AME team members are responsible to carry out inspection, testing, repair, modification, and installation of aircraft hydro-mechanical and flight system components, and aircraft engines subassemblies and components in a heavy maintenance environment.

You will work within your competency and authorisation to contribute to the achievement of aircraft maintenance targets, and may be assigned to a number of other maintenance projects undertaken by Airbus within the facility.

About you

As a key member of the Richmond Maintenance Team, you will work closely with a large and inclusive team of technical experts focused on success.

To be successful in this role, it is a requirement to be able to work in a team environment. You will need to be someone who is able to work autonomously and to tight deadlines and work comfortably in a continuous improvement work environment.

The knowledge, skills and experience best suited to this role would include:

Cert IV in Aeroskills or equivalent issued by a Registered Training Organisation
Ability to obtain a Military Aircraft Maintenance License (MAML)
High-Level aviation airworthiness regulatory knowledge and it's applicability in the relevant environment
Understanding of relevant aircraft maintenance documentation and practices
Knowledge of and experience using Interactive Electronic Technical Publications
High-level communication skills, both verbal and written
High-level computer skills in Microsoft Office applications
Applicants must be eligible for an Australian Government Security Clearance and have the capacity to satisfy pre-employment medical screening which may include drug and alcohol testing.

- Operates electric, gasoline, LPG, or diesel-powered forklift trucks capable of lifting loads.
- Secures hazardous, and non-hazardous cargo prior to shipment.

Supervises a staff of Air Traffic Control Specialists that is responsible for carrying out air traffic control assignments within a geographic area.

Plans and assigns work to be accomplished by subordinate employees. Sets work priorities and schedules. • Schedule, perform, and monitor, inspections of laboratories, offices and manufacturing shop areas to identify and evaluate risk potential.
• Direct a variety of safety management functions in the safety program areas of accident prevention and control, accident investigation, reporting and analysis safety education and promotion.
• Develop safety procedures with Fire Prevention personnel to eliminate fire and explosive hazards.
• Utilize accident reporting software to monitor safety hazards, accidents, and trending. Prepare reports concerning accidents, injuries, property damage, etc.
• Serve as a Radiological Safety Program Specialist and technical expert responsible for protection of personnel and limiting exposure to the environment from the use of all radioactive material and equipment.
