Job Description Summary
This role will provide the procurement team with expertise in the alignment of both client service and corporate procurement with our corporate ESG commitments. The Director of Responsible Sourcing at Cushman & Wakefield, will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing responsible sourcing strategies to enhance the company's commitment to environmentally sustainability, ethical practices, and social responsibility across its global operations. The primary focus of the role will be on ensuring that all sourcing activities align with the organization's responsible sourcing goals, comply with industry best practices, and adhere to relevant environmental and social standards. This position will also be aligned with the annual Supplier Diversity and Responsible Sourcing priorities and will report directly to the Head of Supplier Diversity and Responsible Sourcing.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
Leadership:
- Create a working relationship with overall C&W ESG, DEI and Procurement Leadership.
- Seek to remove roadblocks to enable the delivery of procurement and client account goals in relation to ESG associated procurement matters.
- Manage and lead assigned resources toward agreed-upon short-term and long-term ESG goals.
Responsible Sourcing Strategy:
- Collaboratively develop and execute a comprehensive responsible sourcing strategy that aligns with Cushman & Wakefield's sustainability goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Procurement, DEI and ESG to integrate responsible sourcing practices into the company's operations.
Supplier Assessment and Selection:
- Lead efforts to assess and evaluate suppliers' sustainability and ethical practices, conducting thorough procedures such as audits, risk assessments, and performance evaluations (whichever is deemed the best and most efficient).
- Work with suppliers to drive improvements and promote sustainable practices throughout the supply chain, by setting a clear example in both policy and practice.
Compliance and Standards:
- Stay abreast of relevant industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to responsible sourcing, including environmental, labor, and human rights issues.
- Ensure that Cushman & Wakefield is in compliance with applicable laws and adheres to recognized international standards.
Supplier Engagement:
- Build strong relationships with suppliers, promoting open communication and collaboration to drive responsible sourcing initiatives.
- Develop and encourage suppliers to adopt sustainable practices and contribute to the company and client sustainability goals.
Training and Awareness:
- Develop training programs and resources to raise awareness of responsible sourcing principles among employees and suppliers.
- Ensure that key stakeholders understand the importance of responsible sourcing and actively participate in its implementation.
Reporting and Metrics:
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of responsible sourcing initiatives.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management to demonstrate progress and areas for improvement.
Risk Mitigation:
- Identify and address potential risks related to responsible sourcing practices, including social, environmental, and reputational risks. Implement strategies to mitigate these risks and ensure the continuity of responsible sourcing efforts.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, industry partners, and relevant organizations to exchange best practices and stay informed about emerging trends and innovations in responsible sourcing.
- Present regularly on risk and programmatic updates to internal and external audiences as requested.
Continuous Improvement:
- Continuously review and update responsible sourcing strategies to adapt to changing business needs, regulatory requirements, and emerging sustainability challenges.
The Successful Candidate must possess the following attributes:
- Strong understanding of sustainability principles, ethical sourcing, and international standards (e.g., ISO 20400, Global Reporting Initiative, UN Global Compact).
- Familiarity with CRE or similar supply chain management and procurement processes, as well as risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities to engage with diverse stakeholders and build strong relationships.
- Project management skills, with a track record of successfully leading and implementing responsible sourcing initiatives.
- Strong commitment to corporate social responsibility and sustainable business practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, Advanced Degree a plus.
- 10+ years of relevant business experience, preferred experience in sustainable sourcing, responsible procurement, or related fields.
- Professional certifications related to sustainability or responsible sourcing (e.g., CSR-P, LEED AP, CIPS Sustainable Procurement) are advantageous but not required.

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.
The compensation for the position is: $148,750.00 - $175,000.00
