We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Global Compensation in HR to lead our global compensation strategy and programs. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing compensation strategies that attract and retain top talent, align with the company’s objectives, foster the Owens and Minor culture, and ensure fair pay practices worldwide. This position plays a critical role in developing and implementing sales compensation plans that align with business goals and drive revenue growth. This position will report directly to the Vice President of Total Rewards and will play a vital role in shaping our compensation programs to drive our business forward.
AS THE Director of GLOBAL COMPENSATION, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
- Compensation Strategy: Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive compensation strategy that aligns with the company’s business goals and ensures competitive and fair compensation practices.
- Sales Compensation: Develop and execute a Sales incentive compensation design that aligns to our businesses and drives the behavior to propel the company forward.
- Oversees all aspects of compensation programs, including salary structures, annual bonus plans, sales bonus plans, and other incentives.
- Conduct regular market research and analysis to stay up to date with industry compensation trends and to ensure Owens and Minor’s ability to attract and retain top talent in the industry.
- Develop and implement effective communication strategies to educate employees about their compensation to ensure transparency and understanding.
- Conduct detailed analyses of current and potential sales compensation programs and work with senior leaders to create or modify the scope, metrics, and expectations for individualized performance rewards.
- Work closely with Finance, Recruiting, Benefits, and HRBP’s to drive Total Rewards strategy.
- Lead and mentor a team of compensation professionals, fostering their growth and development, and ensuring they provide high-quality support to the organization.
- Provides thought leadership in the ongoing assessment of compensation programs and offerings to ensure that they are both meeting business needs and are current with marketplace practices
- Provides due diligence support for business expansion as well as M&A activities.
- Ensures compliance with provisions of state and federal governmental regulations (OFCCP, FLSA, FMLA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, PPACA, IRS/SEC, etc.).Reviews and analyzes changes to state, federal, and international laws pertaining to compensation.Reports necessary or suggested changes to management.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS:
- Demonstrated leadership experience in global compensation management
- Strong understanding of global compensation principles, regulations, and market trends
- Successful track record of designing and implementing sales compensation plans that motivate sales teams to achieve desired outcomes
- Ability to analyze complex problems and draw conclusions from data
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage a team, motivate employees, and collaborate with different departments
- Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA or other relevant Advanced degree preferred
- 12 or more years of related experience (Compensation, Total Rewards, etc.) within a publicly traded company
- 6 or more years of diversified leadership, planning, communication, organization, and people management experience
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Certified Equity Professional (CEP), SPHR, and/or SHRM-SCP certification preferred
- Exceptional influencing skills and ability to work effectively in a matrix environment
- Or any combination of education and experience to meet the above requirements
