What we are we looking for:
We are looking for our next Senior Legal Counsel in our London based Product and Distribution Legal Team EMEA!
This team covers a broad range of work on UK and EU product ranges as well as client agreements across EMEA.
In this role you will focus on contracts with clients for asset management mandates and complex distribution partnerships. You will maintain close relationships with business teams. You will be responsible for supervision of legal counsel/trainees as well as for instruction of external counsel on matters within your remit.
Among your activities will be:
Overseeing activities related to agreements with clients in the EMEA region, particularly the UK, including reviewing, drafting and negotiating legal documentation relevant to investment management mandates and partnership agreements.
Overseeing activities regarding EMEA Product and other Invesco teams providing related services.
Be aware of, and able to advise on regulatory developments affecting the EMEA products and services and the distribution in EMEA of other funds run by Invesco globally.
Assisting where necessary with the resolution of regulatory matters, corporate initiatives, drafting of agreements, processes, policies
To provide general support to the Company working cooperatively with other members of the Invesco Legal group worldwide
What you can bring:
Experience working either at a firm or in-house (preferably both) on the key legal topics in the asset management industry
Common law legal training and ideally another qualification from an EU jurisdiction
You must have excellent written and spoken English, and ideally you would speak and write another EU language
Leading others to solve complex problems where significant initiative and independent judgement is required
Setting standards around which others will operate
Working independently, with limited guidance
Presenting difficult concepts and converting technical information to compelling business advice
