About the Role
In alignment with our growth plans, we are looking for a Logistic/Warehouse Apprentice within our Offshore Asset Management Department. Offshore Asset Management focuses on delivery of production and delivery targets across the portfolio of operating assets and those in the development and construction stages. You will join our team to support our £2.5 Bn Beatrice offshore windfarm in Wick. Beatrice consists of 84 Turbines which can provide power for 450,000 homes. The Operations and Maintenance for the site is run from our £12million state of the art facility at Wick harbour.
Warehouse tasks include but not limited to assisting with deliveries, Forklift Operations, Keeping the warehouse tidy, Ordering and Maintaining of Warehouse Stock, Liaising with Offshore personnel to ensure they have the tools and spares required ready to be loaded onto the Vessel when it returns to Port. In Addition, the successful candidate will also be given the opportunity to attain skills/qualifications to carry out routine facilities maintenance tasks and be able to transfer to, and access, offshore wind turbine structures in support of service teams.
This is a Level 2 Apprenticeship and will be Logistics/Warehouse based on the current skillset of the successful candidate. During this programme, you will receive comprehensive on- and off-the-job-training which will enable you to develop your skills and technical knowledge, allowing you to achieve formal accreditations. Your training will be delivered by one of our training partners and will be delivered over 12 months via a hybrid model of both virtual and face to face delivery. Whilst on this apprenticeship programme you will develop:
- Interpersonal and people skills through collaboration and teamwork
- Communication skills through a wide range of stakeholder engagement
- Organisational skills such as monitoring storage and distribution of goods
- Technology skills through the use of MS applications
- Attention to detail by completing tasks accurately and consistently
- Whilst at work, you will get the opportunity to put your training into practice. Throughout your time at SSE, you will be trained and mentored by dedicated Business Mentor and supported by our experienced and friendly team.
