At Gregory Distribution, we are currently seeking a Transport Supervisor in our busy client site in Wakefield. This position will be working within the transport team and will involve all aspect of the transport administration processes and coordination of the day to day running of this busy contract.

The position of Transport Supervisor involves:

• Assist the Transport Manager to manage and motivate the transport team to ensure that staff and assets are used effectively to attain maximum performance in terms of commercial contract efficiency, profit and client service levels.
• Provide leadership of day to day transport issues, including dispatch debrief and work in progress.
• You will be required to work alongside the planner to undertake planning when required.
• You will also be required to work closely with our customer to ensure the smooth running of the operation as a whole.
• Managing and de-briefing drivers.
• Maximise the use of resources within the operation by utilising assets to the full and planning ahead.
• Provide regular reports to the Transport Manager on customer related and other relevant matters, making recommendations where relevant.
• Monitoring and auditing Health and Safety.
• Answering all queries via email, phone and face to face.
• Assisting in production of KPI's and daily statistics.
• Assist with compliance planning in line with company procedure.
• Direct assistance and support for breakdowns.
• Promoting and maintaining positive relationships with colleagues and offering support and assistance in your role as a team member.

Essential skills required for Transport Supervisor:

• Previous experience working in a transport environment to include knowledge of working time directive and EU driver's hours.
• Ability to communicate at all levels.
• Strong geographical knowledge of the UK.
• Excellent organisational skills and prioritising workload.
• Attention to detail is critical and working to deadlines daily.
• Able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
• MS packages to include, Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Our client is a leading law firm with offices located globally. Acting for over 40 insurance companies and self-insured corporates, this commercial firm is currently looking for a Supervisor to join their Vehicle Hire team based in Birmingham.
The team deals with all aspects of defendant credit hire dispute resolution, providing an end-to-end solution. They handle vehicle hire claims from small track to multi-track, including fraudulent credit hire claims. They will also deal with liability, indemnity and associated losses including personal injury, credit repair and diminution.
The team has a progressive approach and a market leading reputation for not simply tackling the claims themselves from a litigation perspective, but also for tracking and analysing behaviours and trends with a view to providing insurers with bespoke strategies and changing market behaviours.
The firm actively encourage and support professional funding for further qualification such as Cilex or to qualify as a solicitor. They offer genuine flexibility from when and where you work to allow you to meet your personal and work commitments, however given the supervisory nature of the role, it is anticipated that you will be in the office 3 days a week. Your new role  
Within this role, you will have direct supervision and management of a small team of handlers who will have responsibility for volume litigated credit hire cases. Through effective supervision and support of fee earners, you will be responsible for the following:

• Technical supervision of claims
• All interim and performance reviews, including probation reviews
• Motivating and engaging the team, as well as overseeing their well-being
• Coaching the team and provide support to develop team members and proceed through the career framework
• Monitoring team financial performance and ensuring that targets are hit
• Ensuring files are run pro-actively and effectively to conclusion by the relevant fee earner, with appropriate deadlines met
• Ensuring that fee earners carry out work effectively to meet the needs of the clients and the commercial requirements of the firm
• Effective allocation of work amongst the team to meet the skills and technical knowledge of the individual whilst ensuring work is carried out profitably for the firm and client

You will also act as a point of contact for clients, support marketing and business development activity within the team and handle a small caseload of mixed value pre-litigated & litigated credit hire claims. 
What you'll need to succeed  
The successful candidate will have previous supervision experience, ideally in a litigation environment, however other supervision experience will be considered.
You will have demonstrable experience of handling a caseload which includes; credit hire, personal injury or similar case types. You will have good people management skills including the ability to motivate, coach and mentor team members at all levels.

• Interpreting specifications, drawings, memos, catalogs, operating manuals, etc., for subordinates. Following up on delayed delivery of materials, equipment repair, defective supplies or other conditions slowing work or which will cause deadlines not to be met.
• Initiating all recommendations for performance awards, as appropriate for all employees under their supervision. Preparing performance plans for all subordinates and preparing annual performance appraisals. Participating in the selection of employees for vacant positions in the Section. Initiating recommendations for promotion or reassignment of subordinates and is responsible for the supervisory evaluation of all employees in the Unit when they apply for promotion or reassignment.
• Will have supervisory responsibility for the HVAC systems journeymen and helpers at this Medical Center. These technicians must be capable of functioning at the journeyman level with little supervision.
• Supervising and training employees regarding varied capacities of the HVAC systems such as duty cycling, start/stop time optimization, auto restart time-of-day scheduling, peak demand limiting, maintenance work order generation, reset application, air delivery equipment optimization, enthalpy optimization, record log keeping of monitoring applications, and alarm status of the multitude of programmable alarm functions throughout the facility.
• Reprogramming the HVAC portion of the energy management system main computer console and separate "stand alone" remote control units with various software updates as they become available from the supplier and economically benefit the Medical Center.
• Establishing an air conditioning systems management program that will meet all requirements of VHA and TJC. This program will consist of at least the following: Identification and inventory of all critical HVAC systems and critical components supporting these systems and a written plan to ensure testing, balancing, and maintenance of the systems so continued operation of the systems will be available at all times.

Plans and assigns work to be accomplished by subordinate employees. Sets work priorities and schedules. Approves leave; gives advice, counsel, and instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters. Evaluates performance of employees and recommends performance ratings. Hears and resolves complaints from employees and refers group grievances and more serious unresolved complaints to a higher level manager. Identifies and arranges for developmental and other training needs of employees. Finds ways to improve production or increase the quality of the work directed. Adjusts staffing levels and work procedures to accommodate resource decisions made at higher levels. Recommends goals and objectives for the area and tracks accomplishments.
