- 39.5 hours per week (rotating shift pattern; week 1: 06:00
- 14:30, week 2: 07:30
- 15:00 and week 3: 11:30
- 20:00). You will be required to work 1 in 3 Saturdays (with a weekday day off)

With a Fleet of over 49,000 vehicles, including traditional fuel and electric vehicles, LCVs and HGVs, maintaining our vehicles is a true team effort. - You’ll perform a full range of inspections, diagnostic, maintenance, and repair procedures on a range of vehicles, trailers, and mechanical equipment.

A bit about you

- Qualified mechanic: you’re fully qualified to an advanced level (IMI Level 3 in Light or Heavy vehicle or equivalent). You’ve got your own toolkit for standard repairs.
- Varied vehicle experience: Proven Vehicle Technician experience working on a wide range of vehicles, for example LCV / HGV.

The roles

We have the following part time roles available ;

25 hours per week, working Monday, Friday & Saturday, 05:45am to 16:36pm

24 hours per week, working Monday, Friday & Saturday, 05:00am to 15:00pm

18 hours per week, working Thursday & Friday Nights, 19:00pm to 04:00am

7 hours per week, working Saturday Only, 04:00am to 11:00am

6 hours per week, working Saturday Only, 04:00am to 10:00am

Your day will start by planning your delivery route to a schedule, whilst multi drop experience is an advantage it is not essential; we are looking for reliable, trustworthy staff who can deliver our customers promise. The uniqueness of Royal Mail Relay means we are market leading in terms of quality for our customers and providing added value, in Royal Mail Relay we do go the extra mile!

Your responsibilities then include collecting and delivering pouches, parcels, tote boxes to small and large businesses in our portfolio. You will scan items on and off route to ensure tracking information is available to customers and colleagues. You must enjoy driving, even at peak hours and be able to lift and carry parcels weighing up to 30kg and be willing to work paid overtime including possible Saturday overtime.

We are looking for positive team players who are willing and flexible enough to help colleagues ensure that all our customers get their items to their customers on time. You must enjoy customer interaction; have great communication/Interpersonal skills which will help us deliver our usual excellent customer service.

You will require the following:

• A full UK manual driving licence (in your current UK address), with no more than 6 penalty points is essential but ideally a clean licence is preferred, please note you will be required to show this at assessment.
• Your driving licence must cover vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes

The benefits

We are looking to offer Fixed Term contracts for 24 months with the following benefits for the right candidates:

Pay monthly, hourly rate of £12.54 per hour plus shift allowance if applicable.

Please note that you must be flexible, (the above rates do not include any overtime).

We are looking for professional vehicle technicians to perform a full range of inspections, diagnosis, maintenance and repair procedures on a range of vehicle, trailers and mechanical equipment operated by Royal Mail Group. As an experienced technician you will have your own personal toolkit equipped to undertake routine maintenance and repair of light/heavy vehicles. Specialist tooling and equipment will be provided for common use by everyone within the workshop.

Successful candidates must be fully qualified to at least advanced level (IMI Level 3 in Light or Heavy vehicle maintenance & repair or an equivalent qualification) and have proven (via CV) experience of working on a wide range of vehicles for example LCV/LGV's.

We also require you to have a full manual driving licence.
