The post-holder will take responsibility for the effective management of the GM. Digital Research Unit (GM. Digital RU), which is a collaboration between Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH) and The University of Manchester.

The GM. Digital RU focuses on developing and delivering interventions to provide better outcomes for children, young people and adults experiencing mental illness. By using innovative digital technologies, we hope that these tools will become more accessible and acceptable, and that this support will be able to help larger groups of people over the coming years.





The post holder will work across a number of high-profile research projects led by the GM Digital Research Unit. For example, the Enhancing CAMHS referrals project (EN-CAMHS 2) is looking at improving the quality of referrals to CAMHS services. Another project is the Core Mental Health Data Set (CMHDS) project which aims to work with people across Greater Manchester and the UK to understand people’s views about collecting mental health information alongside physical health information. The project aims to co-create a ‘common mental health dataset’ that would collect mental health data in physical health studies, and trial this across multiple physical health studies. The post holder will also work across various other projects and activities within the Digital Research Unit related to digital mental health.

Research
• Take overall responsibility for the efficient day-to-day management of the GM. Digital RU.
• Work with the Directors to ensure the Unit’s sustainability via grant income from external funding bodies e.g., NIHR, charities etc
• Support the Directors to develop and implement plans for sustainable income generation beyond funding bodies e.g., training, consultancies, and service evaluations
• Oversee and contribute to writing and finalising funding applications for research within the GM. Digital RU
• Act as the primary point of contact for all external and internal agencies
• Oversee and lead on the project management of RU projects and activities, setting timelines and milestone and adhering to reporting processes.

Policy and Service Development

Human Resources

• Be a responsible authorised signatory for payments as delegated e.g., for equipment, travel expenses and training. This can also include significant payments for recharges to other institutions such as Higher Education Institutions (HEI) and other NHS Trusts
• Manage and monitor project spending including regular meetings with the designated GMMH Research Finance Manager, HEI and NIHR Research Finance Managers when necessary
• Observe personal duty of care in relation to equipment and resources at work

The Trial Manager recruited for this post will work on the Bipolar At Risk Trial II (BART II) funded via the Efficacy and Mechanism Evaluation Program within the NIHR. The trial manager will coordinate a multifunctional team consisting of site leads and research assistants at 5 UK sites, clinician(s), statistician(s), and service user reference group members in the project management of this trial. This will include, but is not limited to, study oversight including regulatory approvals, ongoing study management, and closeout and reporting. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Grant/Project Support Proactively assist with the identification and tracking of funding opportunities appropriate to the research theme Assist with the production of grant applications in collaboration with ECMT Principal Investigators and other staff as required, including collation of financial, PI CV and publications data and ensuring good attention to detail when reviewing documentation and provision of clear and concise feedback to the PI Assist with study document development and review including study protocols, participant information sheets, advertising materials, etc providing feedback and making amendments where appropriate Assist with IRAS applications and processing of study amendments. Assist with project specific tasks at the request of the ECMT Leadership Team, including but not limited to questionnaire/survey design and distribution (no patient facing contact), database design, data entry of questionnaire/survey data into a database, patient/sample tracking, monitoring of study progress, troubleshooting operational issues that may arise Request quotes, invoices and requisitions/Purchase Orders using The Christie Finance processes and systems and assist with University Finance management where appropriate. Assist with generation of study costings which will require a clear understanding of protocol/study requirements, operational aspects of varying complexity and translation into an accurate costing profile. Finance & Activity Reporting Coordinate the data collection and perform data entry into the applicable databases for annual reporting. Data will be obtained from a variety of sources on multiple projects and may require the post holder to analyse and scrutinize data to ensure accuracy. Data will be sourced from various NHS Trusts, University of Manchester and other external organisations including; study idenitifers, design characteristics, milestone data, collaborations, funding sources, links with industry/other NIHR infrastructure/cross cutting themes/other research themes, intellectual property generated Knowledge of funding sources/values for projects will be required to ensure non-BRC grant expenditure is appropriately calculated and recorded. Interrogate funding data where multiple funding streams contribute to the financing of a programme of work, aligning appropriate funds to the projects therein. Ensure that all reports produced are accurate, timely and presented in a user friendly manner. Deal with database queries from researchers in a professional and timely manner. Escalate any database capability issues and suggest solutions where possible. Perform publication searches using tools such as PubMed, HDAS and/or EndNote. Take responsibility for data security, integrity and confidentiality particularly when dealing with sensitive data Raise any areas of concern, risks or issues to the Senior Research Project Manager or Theme Lead(s) as appropriate Suggest areas for improvement in all elements of F&A reporting, e.g. report template design, database design, data flow, data sources etc with a view to improving and sharing best practice across all research themes. Communication Develop knowledge and understanding of the relevant medical, financial and technical terminology used within the experimental cancer medicine team. Primary point of contact for communication within and outside of the experimental cancer medicine team, ensuring professional and timely information provided. Includes proactive promotion of relevant activity through various channels and building relationships within and outside of the team. Science Teacher - Trafford

We are specifically working with a specialist SEND secondary school in Trafford, who are working exclusively with ourselves, to join them teaching Science key stage 3 & 4 ASAP, on an ongoing basis, likely to be for the full academic year on a full-time basis.

You will be required to become fully involved within the department & school, like a permanent member of staff, and attend departmental meetings when required, and be available for parents' evenings as well as planning and delivering captivating, high standard lessons that will stretch the pupils in their learning. You will also be required to mark the work and provide feedback along the way, in tandem with AfL.

The role will be open to newly qualified teachers (ECT) as well as teachers who have more experience, we pay from M1 to M6 (sometimes we can also pay through threshold if you have done so, depending on the role).

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Research and Innovation Division at The Christie.We are looking to appoint a Clinical Research Nurse to the Lung research delivery team within The Christie NHS Foundation Trust.

This post presents an opportunity to join an established research team with a varied portfolio of clinical trials as a Clinical Research Nurse (CRN). The Lung cancer research team is responsible for a varied portfolio of academic and commercial clinical trials.

Key responsibilities of the post include supporting the coordination of the patient’s pathway through an agreed portfolio of clinical trials across Lung. Excellent communications skills in all forms are required for this role for difficult clinical conversations with patients and their families.

The successful candidate will be someone with excellent organisational & time management skills to be the key contact for patients referred for and being treated on Lung clinical trials.

Central to this role is the responsibility of assessing and managing the complex needs of patients participating in a clinical trial.

Experience in oncology is essential.

The CRN will be involved in varied portfolio activities including; clinical care of patients, patient recruitment and management, supporting team with data query resolution, reviewing protocol amendments, providing patient-centred insights to the research delivery team by supporting both the patients and the team through all aspects of clinical research in the Lung research team.

With support from the team the CRN will ensure that the safety and well being of the patients is maintained within the requirement of the multi-regulatory frameworks for clinical research ensuring compliance with ICH/GCP standards and Trust SOPs.

By utilising national frameworks for auditing patients experience the CRN will ensure the patients in the Lung disease portfolio studies will have the best possible experience whilst participating in clinical research.

Raise the profile of the clinical research nurse and clinical trials within the trust by engaging in promotional events relating to clinical research with attendance and contributions at local, national and international meetings.

Demonstrate awareness and contribution to divisional, Trust and national objectives and strategies.

We run one of the largest early clinical trial units in Europe with over 300 trials every year. Cancer research in Manchester, most of which is undertaken on the Christie site, has been officially ranked the best in the UK.

The Lung disease team consists of nurses and consultants with clinical trial coordination and project management support. The portfolio is driven to deliver treatment opportunities to as many patients with Lung at The Christie as possible.

There is a close working relationship with all members of the team with a strategy to increase recruitment into these niche protocols thus offering patients more opportunities to be involved in clinical research. We are looking for a dynamic, highly motivated individual to join our team, to help develop streamlined ways of cross-team working and to provide our research patients with the best possible experience.

The team is highly collaborative in its working practices in order to promote the teams achievements throughout the R&I division, NIHR and with our commercial sponsors with regular reviews of performance & clinical trial feasibilities and service improvement to ensure the highest possible experience for the team and our patients and their families.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Clinical Research Co-ordination

· Work autonomously in all areas of practice relating to clinical research.

· Understand and deliver care in accordance with regulatory approved clinical research protocols.

· Understand the process for obtaining NHS permissions (R&D approval) for conducting clinical trials at site. As project lead, ensure permissions are in place prior to any patient recruitment.

· Participatein clinical trial feasibilities and risk assessments of clinical trial protocols.

· Ensure all clinical trial activities are recorded in appropriate systems in a timely manner.

· Awareness of trial specific, regional and national targets. Identify and implement strategies for recruiting patients to clinical trials ensuring that targets for patient recruitment are delivered.

· Delegation and oversight of research related activities to research team members (clinical and administrative) and ensure compliance with SOPs and ICH/GCP.

· Arrange and facilitate clinical trial related meetings.

· Involvement in appropriate financial remunerations for clinical trial activity.

Personal Education, Training and Development

· Maintain professional development whilst evaluating own specialist knowledge and practice through a process of appraisal and personal development planning.

· Promote the role of the clinical research nurse as an integral part of the healthcare system.

· Increase and maintain awareness of current advances in cancer treatments, research and nursing practice thereby maintaining the highest standard of care for patients with cancer and implementing evidence based care by continuing professional development.

· Support the development of specialist study days within own research team.

· Assist in the provision of specialist education and training in relation to clinical trials to all key stakeholders.

· Disseminate information by attendance and /or presentations at local, national and international conferences/meetings

· Contribute to the development of members of the research team
