Join our talented and dedicated team as a Teacher of Mathematics - With a passion for teaching, combined with a flair for all things numerical could you inspire our students and help them achieve the best possible outcome.

For the right candidate, the role carries with it a Teaching and Learning Responsibility working with the Head of Mathematics to further develop the pedagogy and curriculum for KS3 to secure curriculum progress.

We’re looking for a dedicated individual to provide tailored support to our pupils. You will be committed to making a positive difference to young people’s lives and in supporting and developing their learning. The successful candidate will be a committed team player with excellent organisational and technical skills. You will have the ability to effectively support learning and teaching, and to develop relationships across our school and the Star community.

You will have:

• 5 A* - Cs at GCSE including Maths and English.
• ICT skills to use word processing, software and to research.
• The ability to assist with the preparation of equipment and materials for lessons, as requested by teaching staff.
• The ability to assist with the development and maintenance of specialist resources.

About Star Salford Academy

Star Salford Academy is a 5-form entry mixed secondary school for 11 to 16 year olds, which opened in September 2023. Like all Star schools, Star Salford Academy has a leadership specialism.

We provide a knowledge-based academic curriculum alongside a rich and diverse leadership programme that grows character and inspires charitable and social action. Our pursuit of educational excellence is based upon our fundamental belief that every pupil has the capacity to become a successful and inspirational leader.

We are seeking to appoint a Teacher of Science, at our fantastic school CHS South,to join our team of committed staff who share a common sense of purpose and high expectations of what students can achieve. This role is to provide maternity cover for a period from January 2025 or sooner for a year, or upon the post-holders return, whichever is sooner. This is a fixed term, full time role.

The post holder is required to fulfil the professional responsibilities which are common to all classroom teachers in the school, as outlined in the current School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document.

These detail the professional and particular duties required of teachers, together with requirements for management time, working time, guaranteed planning and preparation time. The school complies with these requirements in order to make reasonable demands of teachers.

The post holder’s key responsibilities will be improving the standards of learning and raising levels of student achievement for all students in their care.

Key relationships:

The post holder is accountable to a nominated Curriculum Leader, Senior Leader and to the Headteacher.
