We are looking for an innovative AI Research Scientist to lead and expand our AI capabilities in agricultural data science and biotechnology.
Job Summary
As an AI Research Scientist (Agriculture/Biotechnology) at Chemigran, you will be responsible for developing and implementing AI models that analyze soil, crop, and environmental data to provide actionable insights for farmers and stakeholders. You will collaborate with agronomists, data engineers, and software developers to create scalable solutions for precision agriculture, sustainable farming, and new revenue opportunities in agriculture.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop AI Models: Create machine learning and deep learning models to analyze complex agricultural datasets, including soil health, crop yield, weather patterns, and environmental conditions.
- Research and Innovation: Conduct applied research in agriculture, biotechnology, and geospatial data analytics to develop new data-driven insights and recommendations for crop management, soil optimization, and sustainable practices.
- Data Analysis and Interpretation: Leverage AI to interpret data from diverse sources, including metagenomics, soil samples, satellite imagery, and climate data, to identify trends and provide predictive insights.
- Collaborate with Domain Experts: Work closely with agronomists, soil scientists, and environmental engineers to ensure AI models are relevant and aligned with agricultural best practices.
- Model Deployment: Collaborate with software engineering and data engineering teams to deploy models into production, ensuring scalability, accuracy, and reliability in real-world applications.
- Stay Updated on Technological Advances: Keep abreast of the latest research in AI, machine learning, and agricultural science, integrating new methodologies into existing models and workflows as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Educational Background: Diploma or degree in Computer Science, AI and machine learning applications, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of full-time experience working on AI projects, preferably in the agriculture, biotechnology, or environmental sciences sectors.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Python, R, or similar programming languages.
- Extensive experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn).
- Proficiency in data analysis, statistical modeling, and predictive analytics.
- Experience with geospatial data and satellite imagery is a plus.
- Domain Knowledge: Knowledge of agricultural science, soil health, crop science, or biotechnology is highly preferred.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across interdisciplinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Blockchain or Web3: Familiarity with blockchain technology, particularly in agricultural applications, is a bonus.
- Experience in Sustainable Agriculture: A background or interest in carbon credit systems, sustainable farming practices, and environmental science.
