The aim of the role of the Band 7 Senior Research Midwife/Nurse is to manage and enhance the overall delivery of clinical research within the Trust by providing support and management to the existing Research team, by assisting with clinical and administrative activities related to clinical trials, from initiation to termination, in accordance with ICH Good Clinical Practice guidelines.

The post holder will assist with the set-up, maintenance, and close down of clinical studies, in accordance with local and legislation within various clinical areas. The post will include assessing patients’ suitability to participate in research and innovation projects, ensuring informed consent is obtained; coordinating the logistics for patient visits and undertaking patient assessments in accordance with study protocol. All data will be recorded, including adverse and serious adverse events, in accordance with ICH-GCP. The post holder will work primarily on the Reproductive Health and Gynaecology portfolio, but may also be expected to cross cover other areas of demand.

We are one of the largest cardiac MRI scanning centres in the UK. Our Imaging Clinical Research Facility is based in our St Thomas Hospital campus with strong research collaboration focusing on the development of novel acquisition, reconstruction and motion correction using different field strength MRI scanners. The facility is run by King’s College London, the University partner in close partnership with Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. Clinical services are delivered to approximately 13,000 patients a year (Cardiac MRI, Perinatal MRI and the PET Centre), and were recently re-accredited in accordance with the Quality Standard for Imaging (QSI) 2021

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Cardiac MRI Radiographer to join our nationally accredited clinical research imaging team. The department supports and mentors Radiographers in their personal and professional development including actively encouraging staff to attend high profile national and international seminars, conferences, presenting posters, abstracts and presentations.

Introduction

The Research & Information Team (R&I) provides information resources and research and enquiry services for Members of Parliament, their staff and other Parliamentary colleagues. It is composed of the House of Commons Library and the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology (POST).

The Research Information Service (RIS) is part of the Library Services directorate within the House of Commons Library. It provides a range of information services to support the Library's eight research teams and POST. This includes the selection of information resources, provision of current awareness reports, training and support on the discovery and use of information tools and resources, reference enquiries, literature searching and bibliographic assistance for the production of briefings and publications.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as Senior Research Librarian. This vital role oversees the daily work of a team of embedded research librarians who work with researchers to ensure they have access to the information needed to support a thriving Parliamentary democracy.

The Role

This post oversees the daily operations of the Research Information Service to ensure the effective and efficient use of information tools by researchers and wider Library users. A professional qualification in library and information management is essential to this post.

Comprising around twenty people, the Research Information Service is a team of highly skilled information professionals who connect the wider Research and Information research community with the resources (physical, digital and human) they need to complete their work. The Senior Research Librarian will work closely with the Head of Service to ensure high quality service delivery in line with strategic goals and take responsibility for a range of projects.

Line management and a coaching approach are essential to this role. The postholder will be responsible for the direct line management of a group of Research Librarians in addition to deputising for the Head of Service in their absence.

Some of the responsibilities for this role include:

• Oversight of the daily operations of the department, deputising for the Head of Service in their absence and at other times as necessary.
• Acting as Senior Records Officer for the wider team, ensuring that information is maintained, accessible and archived in accordance with local policy.
• Liaison with internal colleagues on matters where Research Information Service is involved, including participation in working groups and committees as needed.
• Taking the lead on specific projects including delivering services and contributions to events.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

• You will hold a CILIP-accredited degree level Library or Information Management qualification or actively seeking to obtain such a qualification.
• You meet the key information needs of your customers by showing an aptitude for enquiry work using a range of information resources and tools, including using SharePoint and other tools to organise and retrieve digital information.
• You have the ability to lead and motivate colleagues and foster a supportive work environment.
• You can develop innovative services by monitoring trends in the information landscape and the needs of your user community to analyse where existing services can be adapted and where new services need to be created.
• You collaborate on a range of projects by establishing effective relationships with colleagues to deliver projects and services, taking a leadership approach where necessary.
• You have the ability to communicate complex issues to non-specialists and a range of different audiences.

The aim of the Senior Research Facilitator post is to provide research set-up, management and delivery support to studies undertaken in the Divisions. They will support research studies at various stages, from expressions of interest and feasibility, all the way to regulatory submissions, operational setup and delivery.

They will be responsible for project managing study setup, engaging with research teams, sponsors, clinicians, support departments and managers to ensure that research projects are approved and initiated in a timely manner. The post holder will use a number of data management tools to ensure that information on the various databases are accurate and up-to-date and monitor performance metrics on study set-up, recruitment and delivery to time and target.

General Responsibilities
• Manage the setup of commercial and non-commercial research at Imperial CollegeHealthcare NHS Trust
• Investigate the feasibility of study participation, liaising with relevant parties involved, to ensure that Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust can successfully the first patient within 70 days of valid HRA document pack, as well as confirmation of capacity and capability within 40 days of receipt of valid HRA document pack and overall recruit to time and target. Feasibility coordination will involve information gathering from study teams, investigators, research nurses, research managers, clinical and non-clinical departments, committees, as well as using databases to derive accurate recruitment targets.
• Coordinate expressions of interest, identify suitable Principal Investigators, liaise with the
• Chief Investigator’s team and/or Sponsors to ensure successful site selection
• Where required, assist research teams with preparation and project management ofREC/HRA and Trust R&D applications (including completion of IRAS and any internal forms)
• Liaise with stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure timely study setup and initiation
• Where required, attend site initiation visits, represent the research management team at study meetings.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Education, Leisure and Housing to appoint a Senior Administration Officer. The successful candidate will assist the management team in providing a full range of professional support, ensuring that the business aspects of Education and Leisure are delivered effectively, efficiently and in a timely manner.

The right candidate will have significant experience in administrative practices, and candidates should be familiar with all Microsoft Office packages. We require enthusiastic individuals that continually seek ways to improve all aspects of our service and actively support colleagues to implement positive changes to working practices.

You will have excellent organisational and time management skills and have the ability to communicate to customers at all levels, both internally and externally. You will work to strict deadlines, use your own initiative and be able to work unsupervised. You should be able to demonstrate experience of working accurately with figures producing information and reports on time.

The successful candidate will hold a minimum of an HNC or other SCQF level 6/7 in Business Administration or relevant subject, or where the essential qualification is not held, a minimum of 3 years experience of working in a relevant role is required.

You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
