We are currently looking for a Warehouse/Factory Assistant to work in a busy company in the West of Newcastle upon Tyne.

Duties include

• Helping with measuring and cutting metals for door construction
• Wrapping door parts in preparation for dispatch .
• Construct wood pallets as per instruction.
• Move materials in accordance with safe manual handling standards
• Complete basic assembly tasks.
• Assembly and dismantling of racking
• Keeping site tidy and safe
• Loading, lifting and tidy up of stores area
• General tidy up of metal products both in yard and factory site
• General labouring tasks detailed by the Production Controller.
• Sorting and packing goods in a factory yard
• Working both inside and outside
• Helping as a floater where and when required in the site within manufacturing areas

The person

• Must be happy working both inside and outside in a factory yard
• Have Labouring experience in a similar environment - please note that this is a factory environment and not a construction site
• Have previous measuring and cutting experience in particular with metals
• Be able to lift and load
• Be able to work unsupervised
• Be able to work on own initiative

This role will be permanent for the right person after a short probation period

Electoral Services Assistant to assist with the delivery of the 2024 UK Parliamentary Elections. Roles will assist with the implementation of the 2022 Elections Act Online Absent Voting which came into force in October 2023. Working hours are 9-5, but candidate will need to be flexible depending on the business need. Duties to include answering the phone, data processing, managing incoming post, scanning, being permanently office based. This is not a home working role.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

To provide administrative support to the running of the electoral services office.


MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. To deal with incoming, outgoing and internal post (including envelope stuffing when necessary)
2. Data entry and processing of electoral registration forms using bespoke software
3. Filing of postal vote applications and other documentation
4. Scanning, photocopying, emailing and shredding documents
5. Use data on Excel spreadsheets to update information held on the register of electors
6. Checking of work to ensure accurate record keeping
7. To deal with basic queries from members of the public in person, via the telephone and by email (if required)
8. Supporting the electoral services team with the preparation of stationery and equipment needed to deliver elections

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

1. Good data entry skills
2. Have excellent attention to detail
3. Good IT skills with up to date knowledge of Word, Excel, Google Mail and databases
4. Good communication skills with clear spoken English and neat handwriting
5. Knowledge of customer care and an ability to deal professionally with electors both in person and over the phone
6. Able to work flexibly within a team providing support where needed
7. Able to follow procedures and work to deadlines
8. Able to understand and respect the importance of confidentiality, both within and outside the workplace
9. Able to understand the importance of being punctual and the impact absence has on the effectiveness of the team

Alongside this post, the service has 2 practitioner posts (Specialist Mental Health Practitioner and Mental Health Practitioner), supported by the Clinical Lead. The team are based within the Magistrates Court (primarily) and Westminster House (team base for the Liaison and Diversion Services of which this service sits within). Referral - Help to make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to the service referral protocols, signpost/refer unsuitable service users on to the relevant service or back to the referral agent as necessary. Active engagement To work with a small number of people with mild to moderate common mental health problems in the self-management of their recovery through delivery of formulation driven care plans, the provision of psychological therapy and the evaluation of interventions, under supervision. Service evaluation Support data collection and analysis, for both clinical and service evaluation, as required. This will include collecting and reviewing a variety of data such as psychometric scores, interview data, historical information, literature searches. It may also involve data analysis and report writing under supervision. This role will cover a number of services across the Community Forensic Services. Appointed applicants will have access to robust clinical and managerial supervision and career development opportunities. The service is committed to ensuring the staff in the team are well equipped to work with the complex service users accessing the service and so training is well supported and there is a range of access to robust supervision.
