As a research pharmacy assistant, you will be assisting our pharmacy clinical trials team deliver world class research by maintaining the storage and receipt of clinical trials medicines across the Trust. You will assist the Lead Research Technicians and our production colleagues to provide a high-quality dispensary service giving access to new and ground-breaking treatments to patients via study protocols. Together we undertake ground-breaking research across several specialities including cancer, neurology, stroke, rheumatology, and early phase medicine with approximately 300 trials currently open to recruitment involving investigational medicines, known as IMPs.

The post-holder will be trained to assist the Pharmacy Clinical Trials Unit/Team in the accurate receipt, storage, dispensing and accountability of medicinal products (licensed or investigational) for clinical trial use across the 5 active sites within UCLH where studies are conducted. They will undertake duties as part of the Pharmacy team under the supervision of the Pharmacy Clinical Trial Technicians and or Pharmacists. They will support the Principal Pharmacist (R&D) in meeting objectives towards maintaining and developing the pharmacy clinical trial service across the Trust. They will provide support the Pharmacy Team in the provision of an efficient and high-quality service to UCL Hospitals internal and external customers. The post-holder will be accountable on a day-to-day basis to the Lead Research Technicians.

The Cancer Research Assistant post hosted by CMORE provides an opportunity to develop research skills through supporting a funded research study. Candidates must have a Masters degree (or equivalent) and have a keen interest in data research methods.

The post is available immediately for a 24 month period.

The post is aimed at post MRCS doctors who have completed their Basic Surgical Training & wish to pursue a career in orthopaedics. The post will offer clinical, research & audit experience. Job plan will include a mix of operating sessions, clinics, ward duties, and research activities The post is based on a 10 session per week job plan with a mix of clinical and research sessions. There will be an on call commitment to providing cover for T&O only on the ST1/2 full shift system.
