Position: Production Development Executive (R&D)

Responsibilities:

• Planning and carrying out R&D activities and projects that comply with food regulations as well as the company vision and mission.
• Create and design new recipes to improve food product from the organization in consideration of ideas and market demand for new products and refine taste profiles through experimentation.
• Improve and revise existing product formulations and processes if necessary to optimize productivity and cost.
• Conduct sensory and shelf-life evaluation for new and existing product samples.
• Participate in pilot tests and production runs until the commercialization of the new or modified product.
• Collaborate with the procurement department to source alternative ingredients.
• Liaise with supplier for new product samples and documents required, such as quotation, product specification, CoA, Halal Cert and etc.
• Collaborate with sales and marketing departments to keep track of consumer needs and competitors’ performance as well as support sales and marketing team by preparing samples for customer trials.
• Provide technical and labelling information with regulatory compliance to related departments.
• Keep a record of all R&D related documents.
• Assist in kitchen / R&D lab equipment handling, maintenance and calibration.
• Get involved in kitchen / R&D lab activities related to 5'S, safety, inventory control and others.

Requirements:

• Possess Degree or Diploma in Culinary / Food Technology / Food Science and other relevant field.
• Possess strong understanding of cultural and culinary trends with full knowledge of culinary art and able to cook like a chef.
• At least 1-2 years of working experience in seasoning, sauce and paste R&D, processing & manufacturing related field with strong knowledge and ability in kitchen / R&D lab management, recipe formulation, food presentation, food safety, food handling and food hygiene.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office & Excel, other relevant software and application.
• Able to manage time efficiently, effective in problem- solving, and having positive thinking.
• Possessed strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

HSR seeks individuals to lead the development, refinement, and implementation of VA health systems research portfolios with a particular focus in the following domains:

1. Health informatics/Data Science encompasses big data, virtual/telehealth, and connected care including cutting edge research on advanced methods to extract information from medical records and other data sources; development of predictive analytics to improve clinical care and health system management; computerized decision support to improve clinical decision-making and reduce medical errors; use of technology including smart phone apps to collect and disseminate information to patients, development and testing of innovations in the design and use of health information and virtual health care modalities to improve access to and outcomes of health care for patients.
2. Veteran, provider, and operational partner engagement Science encompasses research on systematic incorporation of end-user input across multiple interested parties (e.g., Veterans, including their families and caregivers, frontline providers, clinical managers and other employees, leaders, policymakers, and community members) to inform all stages of research from inception to dissemination and sustainment. Research examines strategies that optimize Veteran and community engagement to improve Veteran outcomes and Quintuple Aim goals. Research studies seek to develop, test and scale novel strategies to optimize engagement of Veterans, caregivers/families, providers, communities, and other interested parties in the research process, incorporating Veteran-centered outcome and lived experience data.
3. Specific duties include analyzing the needs, strategic plans, and goals of Health system Research and making recommendations for new directions and initiatives; conducting semi-annual scientific merit review meetings; identifying and recruiting VA and non-VA scientists to serve on review committees; evaluating HSR merit reviewed projects recommended for funding and contributing to HSR portfolio management; and providing technical and other expertise based on knowledge of HSR merit review programs and procedures, to colleagues and executive staff.

You will be responsible for teaching your Science discipline, or in some cases across all 3 areas at Secondary schools across Greater Manchester.

Major Duties:

• Creates and maintains unique databases to support research on Veterans health issues and promoting their use in collaboration with other interested researchers.
• Develops policies, procedures, and criteria for the administration of the VA's epidemiological research and surveillance program.
• Serves as senior advisor on research program development.
• Develops statements of goals, policies, priorities, and plans for the full range of research concerns for the program.
• Reviews project reports to assess investigators' compliance with research program guidelines.
• Consults with research elements within the organization, agency, academic community and/or private industry to develop research project opportunities that support VA mission objectives.
• Develops standards for collection and analysis of data and other information as needed to support the Epidemiology Program.
• Establishes and evaluates standards for screening and approval processes for the Epidemiology Program's research and surveillance program.
• Develops and coordinates implementation of research methods and design, standards, criteria, and guidelines for the scientific and technical activities of the program.
• Develops standards, provides scientific leadership, and evaluates research proposals and quality improvement initiatives.
• Ensures research and surveillance proposals meet standards for scientific review and protection of human subjects.
• Provides leadership to Epidemiology Program investigators as they develop project presentation, budget recommendations and resources allocations for proposed projects.
• Prepares in-depth background and management information for review by the research committee and senior leadership.
• Develops standards for Epidemiology Program practices to maintain records and implement other related VA policies as needed.
• Performs other related duties and a variety of administrative duties to maintain the integrity and security of specialized data and implementation of study designs.

Work Schedule: Full Time, Compressed/Flexible Schedule
Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. This position may be authorized for telework. Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process.
