In this role of Manager, you will be based at Longsight Market ensuring that the post holder provides the businesses with the relevant support while making sure the running of the market is industry leading.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• The management of the site operation so as to deliver high quality trader and customer focused services.
• Manage site occupancy agreements and regularly review these.
• Manage the allocation of stalls in such a way as to provide an effective retail mix.
• Handle disputes and disciplinary issues relating to traders.

Clinical Fellow - AMU - 40 hours - Permanent



This is a full time post at Tameside & Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust. The successful applicant must have a license to practice from the GMC and interest in medical education. The department has dedicated 9 consultants working across AMU, IAU and SDEC. We have twice daily consultant led ward rounds across both wards. There is also a busy Same Day Emergency Care unit that is also staffed by the Acute Team.

The post holder will be clinically and educationally responsible to the Consultant working across the Acute Medical Unit, the Integrated Assessment Unit and the Same Day Emergency Care Unit.

Duties to include:
• With the Speciality Doctor and Consultants, ensuring the effective organisation of the ward including diagnosis and treatment of all patients admitted to the Acute Medical Unit or Ambulatory Care Unit.
• Ensure that medical care is provided to patients in line with the agreed medical plan.
• To ensure the appropriate discharge of patients, including providing timely paperwork to the General Practitioner ensuring a continuation of care following discharge.
• To work flexibly across the Acute Medical Unit, Integrated Assessment Unit and Same Day Emergency Care Unit.
• Under direct clinical supervision from the Speciality Doctor and Consultant, ensure that junior doctors have a high standard of training and to participate in the Grand Rounds.
• To contribute to the provision of reports for the Coroner, Police Statements and for Complaints management adhering to time frames.
• To demonstrate an involvement in Clinical Governance, Risk Management and Clinical Audit.
• To collaborate with Clinical colleagues, including assisting the medical on-call team in managing the flow of new admissions to the AMU

Main aims and objectives of the post
The purpose of the post is to ensure that the highest quality of care is provided to each individual patient. The prime responsibility of the post holder will be to provide clinical cover for inpatient care and ambulatory care, supporting the clinical management of the patients and helping junior members of the team.
Whilst on shift, the post holder would work on the Acute Medical Unit with other members of that team.


Job Plan
The post holder will be required to work flexibly across the Acute Medical Unit, Integrated Assessment Unit and the Same Day Emergency Care Unit according to a weekly rota. The post holder will be required to work between the hours of 07:30 - 22:00 according to service needs.
There will be no on-call responsibility; however the post holder will be required to hold the trainee bleep for one afternoon per week on a rotational basis

Experience required
The candidate will have achieved the acute medicine core trainee competencies or equivalent.


Teaching / Training
The Acute Medical Unit is committed to increasing the profile of Education and Training. Our Unit has excellent teaching facilities and we encourage active participation in audits and case presentations. We have a weekly hot topics meeting in which interesting cases are presented and discussed. We also run an excellent undergraduate teaching program. At any one
time there will be 2-3 3rd, 4th or 5th year Medical students attached to the Unit. We are affiliated to the University of Manchester with our undergraduate teaching program. The post holder will be required to participate fully in the education and training of medical students, trainee doctors, nursing and other appropriate personnel.

There is new, state of the art postgraduate medical centre on site with lecture rooms and several seminar rooms provided with extensive audio-visual facilities. Facilities for poster preparation and presentation are available at the centre. There is a staffed library, a dining / sitting room. A full programme of academic meetings, seminars and tutorials is organised for hospital Doctors, General Practitioners and other professionals of the hospital. The postgraduate medical centre has a full and comprehensive programme which the post holder is encouraged to participate. Although this post is not recognised for general professional training by the Royal College of Physicians and Post Graduate Dean, the post holder will be provided with the same educational opportunities as those doctors on the training scheme. The post holder will be provided bleep
protected time for teaching sessions. The post holder is encouraged to attend Grand Rounds and Clinical Governance meetings.


The post holder must undertake Resuscitation Training as required.
