This position provides compliance support specifically for DaVita’s compliance email monitoring program. This teammate will leverage technology to conduct monthly email reviews for potential compliance-related issues, and determine appropriate next steps based on findings. Additionally, this teammate will make recommendations to improve existing processes, lead analysis of related data, and develop relationships with internal stakeholders.
This teammate will also be responsible for daily oversight and management of the Compliance QUESTionLine by providing clear and consistent guidance to teammates who seek answers to compliance-related questions. This teammate will work collaboratively within the Compliance Department as a compliance policy subject matter expert (SME) and with other teammates throughout the Village. Areas of focus include Anti-Kickback Statute, Antitrust, Beneficiary Inducement and the False Claims Act.
DaVita’s Compliance team, Team Quest, identifies, develops, and implements strategies to mitigate risk in a quickly evolving health care regulatory landscape. As a Compliance Manager, you will join a team of highly motivated individuals and will be a key player in enhancing compliance oversight.
Overarching responsibilities:
Oversight and responsibility for the proactive Email Monitoring Program. Management and oversight of day-to-day operations of the Compliance QUESTionLine. Ownership and maintenance of data and reporting for the Compliance Policies Team. Support Compliance Director on special projects as needed.
QUESTionLine Responsibilities:
- Review inquiries received and triage as appropriate. For compliance questions, provide timely policy guidance to teammates and document clearly within system (EthicsPoint).
- Understand and be able to interpret compliance policies to provide appropriate guidance.
- Communicate policies, procedures, and potential risk in an easily digestible manner.
- Analyze data to define and understand problems, perform research, and evaluate alternatives to assist leadership in decision making regarding program enhancements or areas of improvement.
- Escalate issues to leadership, legal, and/or the Investigations team, as appropriate.
- Review and track compliance forms and approvals related to policies.
- Help review and provide feedback for compliance policies, trainings and job aids as needed.
- Participate in committees or independently review forms and requests for compliance risk and provide appropriate guidance and/or approvals.
Email Monitoring Responsibilities:
- Manage ongoing compliance email monitoring process, including, conducting monthly reviews in Relativity and Brainspace and completing preliminary research on potential issues identified.
- Document rationale for decision to conduct additional follow up or create a case in EthicsPoint Case Management System for matters requiring additional investigation.
- Model continuous improvement in day to day working practices, consistently iterating on processes to ensure efficiency in risk mitigation.
- Build and maintain positive relationships within Compliance department and across departments.
- Analyze data to identify themes and trends and present to senior compliance leadership on an ongoing basis.
- Communicate findings to leadership and make recommendations for next steps related to issues identified.
Qualifications/Skills/Behaviors Required for Success in this Position:
- Bachelor’s Degree required; JD a plus
- Relativity and/or Brainspace experience required; eDiscovery technical certification(s) preferred
- Minimum of 4 years of professional work experience required. Compliance and/or health care experience strongly preferred
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills; Proven ability to synthesize/analyze diverse information, develop recommendations and solutions, and articulate them clearly to business partners and leadership
- Proven experience in managing multiple requests for support while insuring stakeholders are satisfied with completeness, accuracy and timeliness
- Broad knowledge of eDiscovery technology and the collection, processing, review and production of electronically stored information (ESI)
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills including ability to listen attentively and to communicate information clearly and effectively
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are critical for success in this role
- Demonstrated strength in time management required; ability to respond to urgent requests, prioritize appropriately, manage multiple projects and priorities at one time and meet deadlines
- Able to function in a team environment, being flexible and responsive to changing priorities, and having an appropriate sense of urgency in completing tasks and projects
- Professional presence and presentation skills (including PowerPoint presentations); ability to synthesize and present analyses to senior management with persuasion and sound logic
- Ability to deal with confidential information and/or issues using discretion and judgment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel

Salary/ Wage Range
$75,200.00 - $110,400.00 / year
Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
