The Role

As a Lead Security Assurance Co-ordinator, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. As the Lead Security Assurance Co-ordinator, you will sit within Digital Solutions working within our Naval Nuclear sector. Our business is to provide the engineering assurance, information management and business solutions that keep the Royal Navy at sea.

Day to day, you'll receive direction from the Accreditor and the Information Asset Owner's (IAO's). You will have a sound technical understanding of electronic security measures and how such systems employ security measures into the solution. You will have a good working knowledge of configuration management practices for information systems and are aware of the principles of risk management.

This role is full time, 36 hours and will be based on site at Babcock Technology Centre with hybrid working from home arrangements.

Essential experience of the Lead Security Assurance Co-ordinator:

• Relevant IT security experience
• Writing of accreditation security case (RMADS)
• Experience and knowledge of Government IA Policy, including JSP440, JSP604, DIANS and NCSC IA guidance.
• Experience of close working relationships with Accreditation Authorities in the UK, as well as leading Security Working Groups as a way of managing security risks.
• The application of contextualised risk management in the application of technical/procedural/physical security controls with the risk/cost/benefit space.

Qualifications for the Lead Security Assurance Co-ordinator:

• Educated to degree level or hold a relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience
• Be a CISSP Certified Information Systems Security Professional and CISM Certified Information Security Manager Certified Cyber Professional (CCP).

We are currently recruiting for a growing team of Penetration Testers with offensive cyber security and red teaming experience. Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years' experience in offensive pen testing roles.

REQUIRED - 5 years living in the UK for security checks

The role is remote/hybrid and includes travel to client's locations performing comprehensive, advanced pen testing including:

• Conduct thorough penetration tests to identify vulnerabilities in systems, networks and applications
• Develop and execute exploit scenarios to simulate real-world cyber attacks
• Provide detailed reports
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to implement security best practices
• Stay up to date on the latest security trends, tools, techniques to enhance testing methodologies and procedures.

Other responsibilities within the team include security assessments, risk analysis, incident response, research, compliance, and documentation.

Desirable Qualifications include CHECK team member, OSCP and CREST. However, if you have some at least 1 of these and are working towards the others your application will still be of interest.

A degree in computer science or related subject required.

Fully SC clearance is an advantage, and full security checks will be completed in the role.

We are seeking to recruit one permanent post and three 2-year fixed term posts, offering exciting opportunities to facilitate and support our project and longer term work as members of our Academic Quality and Partnerships Enhancement team.

The Academic Quality and Partnerships Enhancement team provides university-wide support for the ongoing development and review of UWE Bristol’s educational portfolio across three interconnected areas of activity:



Curriculum: supporting the design, development, approval and continuous improvement of the University’s academic programmes, including coordinating support for cross-university curriculum enhancement projects and initiatives and related evaluation activities
Standards and Accreditation: supporting oversight of regulatory compliance in relation to quality and standards and engagement with professional, statutory and regulatory bodies
Collaborative Provision: supporting the development, oversight and enhancement of the University’s UK and international academic partnerships and associated collaborative provision, including apprenticeships.
