Transport Compliance Manager – Derbyshire / Charnwood

Here at Serco, we are seeking a Transport Compliance Manager to support the associated Contract Management team and onsite CPC Holder, via the Regional Transport Manager, to deliver a compliant fleet service ensuring the contracts legislative obligations of the Operators licences. This includes maintaining the contracts daily vehicle requirements for all services. To follow the vehicle maintenance requirements ensuring all vehicles and plant are serviced and maintained to the specification outlined under the manufacturer’s guidelines and the Operator licence profile.
As part of this you’ll:
- Proactively manage the yearly maintenance planner to ensure the vehicle fleet is maintained, serviced and managed in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines
- On a daily basis manage the vehicle requirements for all relevant departments across the contract(s).
- Monitoring of 3rd party service providers to ensure their compliance with the contract SLA and their legislative obligations.
- Working collaboratively with Contract Management, the nominated Contract CPC holder and the Regional Fleet Manager to ensure the daily availability target of the core fleet is maintained at 100% (excludes accident damage and vehicle related negligence by drivers or operators)
- To maintain and keep updated the fleet inventory and Fixed asset register, including current asset locations, through FMS.
- Ensure the driver qualification central data base System covering, driver licences, driver tachograph cards, DCPC, vehicle categories individuals are authorised to drive, and any other associated driver training is accurate and updated on a weekly basis.
- Monitor and action Road Traffic Infringement Fines.
- Ensure all MOT results are reported, and failures investigated Review and help develop Fleet and Road Transport TBT
- Management of vehicle telematics and visual driver aids, eg: CCTV Externally/Internally
- Management and demand of Hire Fleet
- Management of Drivers Hours
- Filing of Vehicle maintenance Paperwork and Drivers Hours records
- Manage and Monitor Fuel usage, including Management of Fuel Cards
- Management, programming, and distribution of Fuel Keys
- Management of LOLER Inspections.
What you’ll need to do the role:
- Hold the National Certificate of Professional Competence in Large Goods Vehicles
- If required to train to meet this obligation, qualification must be earned within a maximum of two attempts over a maximum 18-month period from employment start
