The University of Brighton Academies Trust is seeking a qualified, skilled and professional Safety and Compliance Manager to promote, develop and establish a positive safety culture within its professional services teams and academies to meet its legal requirements in terms of Health, Safety and Compliance. The postholder will take responsibility for operational matters relating to Health and Safety Planning and Management and contribute to the Estates & Facilities Management Strategic plan.

The post holder will report to the Director of Estates & Facilities Management and will be the primary point of contact for all Health, Safety and Compliance matters. The postholder will be responsible for effective day to day operational support, management, monitoring and development of Health and Safety for 15 Trust academies and Central Service Teams and their locations.

The role includes the use of CAFM software to connect service users and to improve efficiencies. The postholder will have a proven background in Health and Safety Compliance with excellent management skills to develop, drive and guide our central and academy teams.

The successful applicant will be experienced at developing a positive Health and Safety Culture within a multi-site organisation, achieving high standards of health and safety management and have the maturity to build strong relationships with academy staff and their respective teams to implement, monitor and review ways of working to successfully meet these standards. They will have responsibility for all operational elements of health and safety management across the Trust.

DaVita’s Compliance team, Team Quest, identifies, develops, and implements strategies to mitigate risk in a quickly evolving health care regulatory landscape.  As a Compliance Manager, you will join a team of highly motivated individuals and will be a key player in enhancing compliance oversight.

Overarching responsibilities:

Oversight and responsibility for the proactive Email Monitoring Program. Management and oversight of day-to-day operations of the Compliance QUESTionLine. Ownership and maintenance of data and reporting for the Compliance Policies Team. Support Compliance Director on special projects as needed.

QUESTionLine Responsibilities:

• Review inquiries received and triage as appropriate.  For compliance questions, provide timely policy guidance to teammates and document clearly within system (EthicsPoint).
• Understand and be able to interpret compliance policies to provide appropriate guidance.
• Communicate policies, procedures, and potential risk in an easily digestible manner.
• Analyze data to define and understand problems, perform research, and evaluate alternatives to assist leadership in decision making regarding program enhancements or areas of improvement.
• Escalate issues to leadership, legal, and/or the Investigations team, as appropriate.
• Review and track compliance forms and approvals related to policies.

Email Monitoring Responsibilities:

• Manage ongoing compliance email monitoring process, including, conducting monthly reviews in Relativity and Brainspace and completing preliminary research on potential issues identified.
• Document rationale for decision to conduct additional follow up or create a case in EthicsPoint Case Management System for matters requiring additional investigation.
• Model continuous improvement in day to day working practices, consistently iterating on processes to ensure efficiency in risk mitigation.
• Build and maintain positive relationships within Compliance department and across departments.
• Analyze data to identify themes and trends and present to senior compliance leadership on an ongoing basis.
• Communicate findings to leadership and make recommendations for next steps related to issues identified.

Qualifications/Skills/Behaviors Required for Success in this Position:

• Bachelor’s Degree required; JD a plus
• Relativity and/or Brainspace experience required; eDiscovery technical certification(s) preferred
• Minimum of 4 years of professional work experience required.  Compliance and/or health care experience strongly preferred
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills; Proven ability to synthesize/analyze diverse information, develop recommendations and solutions, and articulate them clearly to business partners and leadership
• Proven experience in managing multiple requests for support while insuring stakeholders are satisfied with completeness, accuracy and timeliness

What You Will Do:

Guidehouse is seeking an experienced compliance supervisor to serve as a Team Lead overseeing a team Senior Analysts and Analysts executing BSA/AML/Sanctions and regulatory compliance functions on behalf of our clients. The Financial Crimes Compliance Supervisor will be responsible for driving team performance and quality.  

The responsibilities will include:

• Manage and supervise a team of Senior Analysts and Analysts, executing across a variety of regulatory compliance and financial crime-related functions, to include, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering, Office of Foreign Asset Controls (OFAC), Know Your Customer (KYC), including Identification Verification (ID&V), Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), and Ongoing Monitoring, and/or fraud investigations for our client.
• Oversee team performance regarding production and quality.
• Support Managers and senior leadership with service delivery efforts, such as tracking key performance indicators, developing training materials, and evaluating performance, as appropriate.
• Perform quality assurance reviews of team’s work product in accordance with client QA expectations.
• Accurately and thoroughly assessing team, work product quality and leveraging practices consistent with industry standards to provide coaching and constructive feedback to team to ensure quality decisions and appropriate review of potential illegal activity. 
• Monitor and manage work queues across processes and prioritize assignments to minimize operational impact.
• Monitor, manage and communicate production metrics on an individual and team level across project resources.
• Create and present quality deliverables that support essential project workstreams. 
• Provide guidance to analysts based on client expectations and prior subject matter experience.
• Lead training efforts to ensure consistency and quality across the team through large and small group meetings and 1-on-1 discussions.
• Consistently monitor the assigned team for effectiveness and efficiency and target areas of weakness.
• Serve as performance manager for junior team members.

What You Will Need:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university and a minimum of 5-7 years relevant experience (level dependent) OR 9-11+ years of experience in lieu of a degree (level dependent).
• Strong leadership and time management skills.
• Ability to manage and prioritize several tasks simultaneously and autonomously.  
• Subject matter expertise /investigative experience in the areas of Financial Crimes Compliance such as OFAC Sanctions, Anti-Money Laundering, KYC, CDD, EDD and/or Financial Fraud Investigations.
• Understanding of the legal, corporate governance, and regulatory environment related to the BSA and USA PATRIOT Act, as well as knowledge of industry practices for operationalizing controls.

Qualifications and Experience

This position supports all compliance functions of the Corporate Compliance Program and assists in structuring programs to ensure the processes are efficient and comply with regulations and licensing. This position will report to a Healthcare Compliance Director and is primarily responsible for serving as the day-to-day compliance leader for DaVita’s Hospital Services business line, which provides both inpatient dialysis services (Hospital Services Group) and provider neutral renal discharge planning and placement services (Patient Pathways) to hospitals.

This person will partner with their internal business, legal and compliance stakeholders to develop, enhance, and sustain the compliance program for the Hospital Services business line. They will provide compliance guidance and support to the Hospital Services team on compliance-related matters arising in the context of providing inpatient hospital dialysis services, discharge planning services and related businesses.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Interpreting and applying the Anti-Kickback Statute and aspects of DaVita’s policies and procedures to our Hospital Services’ business practices.
• Partnering with other compliance teammates, regulatory attorneys, business attorneys, IT, finance, accounting, and business clients in identify and resolve compliance matters and provide guidance on new business initiatives.
• Reviewing and assessing Anti-Kickback Statute and other compliance risks associated with Hospital Services agreements and Patient Pathways agreements.
• Performing an annual risk assessment process across the Hospital Services business line and develops an annual compliance work plan with actions and timelines.
• Overseeing development, modifications, communications, and implementation of policies, procedures and process improvements related to Hospital Services referral source arrangements.
• Partnering with business, legal and compliance stakeholders to develop and execute monitoring plans related to Hospital Services’ arrangement performance and payment monitoring.
• Collaborating with compliance teammates to support the development, modifications, communications, and implementation of Hospital Services’ compliance training to key stakeholders.

• Working with internal audit teams to design annual audit plan for the business.
• Helping to create the agenda and content for the Hospital Services Group’s Management Compliance Committee.
• Monitoring changes in relevant regulatory areas to assess compliance program gaps.

• Managing special projects, as needed.
• Managing one or more compliance professionals including performance management and talent development, as needed.

• Travel required minimal.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree required; JD/CPA/MBA or other relevant advanced degree or certification preferred.
• Experience in the health care industry and knowledge of health care fraud and abuse laws and regulations, including the Anti-Kickback Statute, is required.
• Experience with providers or hospitals preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a legal or compliance professional responsible for the development, implementation and sustainment of an effective compliance program.
• Demonstrated ability to present and communicate effectively with executive management, business leaders, and field employees.
• Proven track record of collaborative problem solving with senior management and business leaders to achieve business goals.
• Demonstrated project management and process improvement experience.
• Experienced people manager, skilled at selecting, managing, and maximizing direct reports and their teams through coaching, mentoring, development, and fun.
• Superior writing and communication skills.
• Knowledge of financial processes beneficial.

Salary/ Wage Range

$100,100.00 - $147,000.00 / year

Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown. • Execute quality system and training programs
• Communicate, implement and monitor of PUMA quality requirements and standards with all WCFE suppliers
• Ensure all internal WCFE’s Quality assurance team members follow the same company procedures and goals
• Work closely with the Global Quality Assurance manager to set future quality improvement strategies – implement the new projects – measure and adjust accordingly
• Oversee and ensure incoming customer quality claims are processed correctly and on time – formulate and implement solutions with customers – propose corrective action plans with suppliers
