What is the job role?As our Building Control Team Leader, you will work closely with the Building Control Manager to oversee the delivery of the Building Control service, lead innovation and ensure the quality and performance of the team. You will have the opportunity to shine and make a significant contribution to Coventry’s growth and success.
You will represent the service at a senior management level, provide expert advice and help shape the future and strategic direction of the team whilst also getting involved in complex and high-profile projects.

We're seeking a forward-thinking leader who values diversity as a core strength, creating an environment where every voice is heard and respected.
You will need to have your competence validated by the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) through Building Safety Competence Foundation (BSCF), the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE) or Total Training and be qualified to work on any Class 2 building and be working towards Class 3.
You must have substantial experience working in Building Control, including dealing with complex and high-risk projects. Experience in managing, supervising, and mentoring staff is desirable.
You will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work under pressure and prioritise your workload. You will also need to have a valid driving licence as you will be required to travel to various sites across the city.
