We’re currently seeking a Financial Process Assurance Manager to join our Group Finance Team on a six-month fixed-term contract. Reporting to the Head of Financial Compliance, you will play a key role in supporting our financial processes and controls, ensuring they align with Serco’s standards and best practices. You’ll work closely with various process owners and stakeholders to develop, document, and enhance financial processes and controls in accordance with Group standards. You will support projects that integrate facilities management applications into Serco’s ERP and financial applications.
As part of the broader assurance program, you will ensure that financial controls comply with Serco's Group Standards, the Internal Control Framework for Financial Reporting (ICFR), and other financial assurance requirements, including fraud prevention. This role demands a comprehensive understanding of these standards and the ability to interpret, explain, and apply them within our financial processes.
As part of this you’ll:
- Analyse finance processes and identifying key risks and controls or control gaps contributing to design discussions.
- Communicate and influence acceptance of financial controls which meet good practice and Group Finance requirements.
- Develop process and control documentation meeting Group standards working with process owners, stakeholders, technical and design teams.
- Contribute to development of appropriate testing programmes to ensure controls are designed and operate effectively.
- Analyse and conclude on testing activities with respect to effectiveness of controls.
What you’ll need to do the role:
- Ideally you will hold a professional accountancy qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Previous experience in an auditing or financial controls environment.
- Proven experience of developing and implementing finance processes, risks, and controls.
- Up to date knowledge of IFRS accounting standards.
- Experience of documenting business and operational processes and controls.
- Experience of audit or assurance of processes and controls.
- Experience of financial audits or financial control testing programmes such as Sarbanes Oxley.
- Experience of implementing or managing aspects of a GRC application.
