An opportunity exists for a Senior Control Systems Engineer in vertically integrated provider of energy control solutions experiencing a strong period of growth. The role has responsibility for designing control systems for power generation, protection systems and rotating machinery. Specifically, this will include genset and power station control, electrical-mechanical protection and turbine controls (gas, steam, hydro).
• Perform, and lead, complex software/hardware TSP creation, test setups/troubleshooting, engine calibration, emissions testing, testing of customer/internal hardware/software.
• Create and update BOM's, wiring diagrams, drawings, electrical schematics, test plans, training material, creation of O&M manuals for customers.
• Supervise FAT and SAT.
• Coordinate project milestones/project scope and ensures activities associated with the PLC process and department level procedures are adhered to.
• Mentor and assist level 1 and 2 engineers.
• Participate or lead projects in analyzing and sizing of third party internal/external products and definition.
• Support the commercial group in proposal creation, technical support commercial offers, and customer presentations.
• Co-author papers with other engineers’ complex or novel research assignments.
• Accountable for emissions certification support or regulatory compliance support for products and systems.

Requirements
• Degree in Engineering, Science or another technical equivalent.
• Significant previous experience in designing control systems for power generation and protection systems (genset and power station control and electrical-mechanical protection)
• Significant previous experience in designing control systems for rotating machinery (gas and steam turbines in refinery process and LNG industries, as well as hydro turbines).
• Preferably previous experience with ComAp, DeepSea, Woodward or DEIF controllers.
• Knowledge of design tools, basic use of DFSS tools and methodologies.
• Knowledge of Engineering quality systems (PLC, engineering change, configuration management).
• Ability to run existing standard tools (e.g. GAP, ProE, NetSim, Toolkit, Intellution, Citect, AutoCad, MatlLab, Simulink).
• Well-developed leadership skills; ability to drive results across organizational boundaries.
• Complete understanding of component and system function and testing requirements, manufacturing processes, drawings and standards.

The post holder will ensure patients and stakeholders of the Trust receive an excellent standard of customer care and administrative support. The post holder will be accountable and responsible for the line management of identified non-clinical staff within the Data Quality team. They will be required to support the Data Quality Manager in the selection and recruitment of staff, including administering professional development reviews and annual appraisals, to motivate and ensure staff are up to date with training requirements in all areas, assisting with training when required. The post holder will also be responsible in promoting development. The post holder will provide support/supervision at all times and be responsible for the allocation of work for identified non-clinical staff. The post holder will be required to deputise in the absence of the Data Quality Manager. The post holder will support the collection and accurate recording of information on all clinical systems. To proactively monitor and validate Referral to Treatment (RTT) pathways to ensure patients waiting times are accurately recorded. To maintain the Trust RTT Patient Tracker List (PTL), ensuring patients are placed on appropriate pathways. The post holder will be actively involved in Trust auditing and drafting reports for analysis. When identified, to organise and deliver training to departments or individuals to ensure improvements with Data Quality within the Trust. KEY TASKS: Support and System Development To be responsible for the validation of all Referral to Treatment pathways to ensure national and local RTT rules and access policies and guidance have been followed. To ensure accurate and timely data is recorded on the relevant clinical systems against the relevant pathway. To liaise with a variety of relevant departments to facilitate earlier bookings of appointments or tests where available to ensure breaches are reduced. To escalate areas where workflows are not being followed across pathways to the Data Quality Manager. To also investigate these areas to see if training needs to be provided or propose workflow changes to be implemented. To process map teams in order to understand workflows and analysis where improvements to streamline the service may be identified. To liaise with relevant operational staff groups and individuals to plan, organise and deliver relevant RTT/workflow training. To run regular Data Quality reports to ensure staff within the team are working on up-to-date lists and to see if training implemented reduces inaccuracies in the data. To produce and present reports and statistics including complex information from multiple data sources and components including SPC, trend analysis and focussed action plans to drive improvement. To collate, analyse and interpret data to share with external organisations including the local ICB, NHS E and others as appropriate. To prepare reports for analysis following completion of the monthly audit programme using a range of tools including Excel and PowerBI. To communicate audit reporting to staff to provide awareness of the implications in relation to activity data, performance and effectiveness. To develop Standard Operating Procedures and ensure workflows are in line with Trust Policies. To participate in projects as directed by the Data Quality Manager. To be a point of contact for Business Continuity purposes. This may include supporting the Data Quality Manager in assessing Business Impact Analysis in order to identify Business Continuity plans. Leadership & Change Management To assign weekly worklists and provide training to the team on how to complete specific lists. Complete regular data quality audits and feedback the outcomes as appropriate to the Data Quality Manager. We're looking for a versatile and experienced Senior EC&I Engineer who can take projects from the functional design specification through to delivery, managing all the relevant technical documentation throughout.

Main Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities for Senior Control, Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer:

• Get involved with the whole project lifecycle.
• Take the lead in developing CE&I designs to national and international standards.
• Work with the wider engineering and business teams in developing safety related systems to BS EN 61508, BS EN ISO 13849-1.
• Work with the construction and commissioning team by providing CE&I support.
• Work with a team of junior engineers to guide their design activities.
• Work with the CE&I Discipline Lead Engineer to identify and develop business improvements.
• Engage in the employee development program to support your technical and behavioural growth.

Ideal Candidate

Essential Criteria for Senior Control, Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer:

• Someone with a degree in an Electrical Engineering discipline or closely related subject together with a good level of design office experience.
• Someone with a good knowledge and experience in following an accredited design / engineering process to deliver an assured design / system that meets all required statutory site and national safety standards.
• Someone with the ability to work well within a design environment and other engineering disciplines.
• Ability to obtain SC level security clearance (this includes but is not limited to identity, employment, financial and criminal record checks plus 5 years' worth of UK residency).

Desirable Criteria for Senior Control, Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer:

• A Chartered or Incorporated Engineer, or someone working towards professional registration, although equivalent experience will be taken into consideration.
• A working knowledge of the requirements of PUWER and UKCA marking.
• Experience of the nuclear sector.
• Knowledge of Sellafield Standards.
