Cambridgeshire County Council is seeking an experienced and skilled adult social care senior professional to provide leadership and direction to support the Adults, Health and Commissioning Directorate to meet readiness for assessment.
Can you rise to the challenge? Cambridgeshire County Council is preparing for a new phase of assurance, as the Care Quality Commission, begin to roll out their programme of the assessment of Adult Social Care services; this brings some exciting opportunities to work with us in our readiness for this process, along with our engagement through the whole workforce and our improvement journey, knowing ourselves better. With a new Executive Director for Adults, Health and Commissioning having recently joined the council, we will be focussed on evidencing and providing assurance on our journey to further improve services to the people of Cambridgeshire. This will also involve working closely with internal and external partners, to demonstrate how we all work effectively together.
The role will provide vital support and leadership in service development, including improvement programmes, performance improvement and providing support alongside the co-ordination to the adult social care self-assessment and CQC assurance process.

What will you be doing?You will have the opportunity to influence and implement real and positive change, ensuring Cambridgeshire County Council continues to provide excellent services.
You will lead on the Adults, Health and Commissioning Directorate’s CQC assurance programme, ensuring a focus on workforce engagement, through implementation and continuous monitoring of the delivery of improvement programmes, to achieve our strategic ambition and improve the lives of the people of Cambridgeshire. In addition, the post holder will lead on the coordination of the expected CQC assurance visits, working closely with the Principle Social Worker, Service Directors, key internal and external partners, together with people who draw on services, those with lived experience and providers of care and support.
In this key role, you will work working closely with the Executive Director for Adults, Health and Commissioning, Principal Social Worker, Service Directors, and liaise closely with Children's Social Care, key partners and providers to ensure there is shared understanding of the Directorates strategic ambitions and priorities in the delivery of adult social care services.
The post holder will have a wide knowledge of national policy drivers, and transformational change in a Local Authority to understand key relationships, with partners, stakeholders along with experience of supporting senior leaders.
You will lead on the implementation of the assurance readiness improvement plans, reporting progress regularly through to the CQC assurance strategic board.

About youThe successful candidate will:
- Be highly motivated, proactive and innovative person with a proven track record of delivery.
- Coordinate and lead the readiness for CQC assessment, working closely with colleagues across the Directorate and wider Council, in shaping and producing the relevant plans, and engagement of teams, through to the development of implementation and monitoring arrangements.
- Create a strong and inclusive engagement plan, to ensure buy in and ownership from the Adults, Health, and Commissioning workforce, along with the wider corporate leadership.
- Collaborate with regulatory bodies, stakeholders, and expert practitioners to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and promote best practices.
- Provide comprehensive support and regular reporting on progress to the DASS by managing projects, problem solving and highlighting and resolving risks and issues.
- Prepare reports, making recommendations to assist and influence senior managers.
- Contribute to a clear and compelling strategic vision for assurance and transformation within Adults, Health and Commissioning aligning with Cambridgeshire’s Strategic Ambitions.
