Experienced Class 2 Driver Tramper required, working 3 to 4 nights out per week, working with our Worksop based client. This family run operation is a specialist general haulage company who are looking to add to their small team of drivers in order to cope with increasing workloads. The role itself will require you to carry out general trunking of various products to warehouses nationwide. This is not a multi drop role and minimal handball will be required.

To apply for this role, you must have the following:
A full HGV Class 2 UK Driving Licence
A valid Digital Tachograph Card
A valid CPC Card
At least 1 year of UK Class 2 Driving Experience


This is a full time, on-going position

The hours of work for this roll will be Monday to Friday, with a start time of approximately 05:00.

You will be paid £13 per hour
with overtime of £19.50 for Saturdays, and £26.00 for Sundays if required.

We have immediate work available for class 2 HIAB drivers within the Sheffield area. You will be working for one of the UK’s most highly reputable builders merchants.

Your daily duties will include you having to deliver several different types of building materials to sites and residential properties across Yorkshire being a total of approximately 3-4 drops a day.


All candidates must have:

• Previous experience in operating a remote grab HIAB
• Valid certificate or licence to operate an HIAB
• Valid CPC
• Valid Digital Tacho Card

Previous experience within a similar is advantageous but not essential.

You will be working Monday to Friday with a start time of around 07:00 and 07:30 and you will be doing around 8 hours a day with the occasional Saturday.

Key Purpose of the Job:

To control the flow of work through the workshop to maximise its utilisation and ensure that technicians are working efficiently
To ensure that all company policies and procedures applicable to their area of responsibility are adhered to at all times

Accountabilities:

Receive job cards from service reception, pre-time each job and allocate work to Technicians

Obtain authorisation for any additional work required either through service reception or by direct contact with customer

Ensure that all warranty items are identified for each job and that parts replaced are labelled, appropriate documentation completed and passed for action

Receive job cards for completed jobs ensuring that work has been completed correctly; time completed jobs so that job costing can be completed, and ensuring all warranty items are highlighted and all associated documentation is completed

Arrange for customer to be informed that vehicle has been completed

Ensure that the image and levels of customer service within the department is in line with Company standards

Schedule all PDI and used car preparation to ensure that sales department requirements are met

Ensure that all special tools and equipment are kept in good order and that repair requirements are addressed

Ensure that the workshop is kept clean and tidy at all times

Ensure that all customer complaints are dealt with both speedily and effectively

Supervision of the team to ensure that designated duties are performed correctly, highlighting any improvement areas to their immediate supervisor

Identify training requirements for workshop team and Technical Specialists

Ensure that within their area of operation all Company and Trade Associations policies, procedures and minimum standards are met and that all statutory requirements including trading standards, vehicle and consumer legislation, fire, health and safety etc. are adhered to

Handle all internal and external customers and suppliers with courtesy and ensure the Mercedes-Benz experience is delivered to all contacts at all times

What you’ll do

The role will work with the Automation Infrastructure Team and the Product Scrum Teams  to implement cutting edge complex quality engineering automation frameworks, tools and other solutions for software development and deployment initiatives to ensure the software meets quality expectations.

The candidate will be well versed, hands-on with testing methodologies, automation techniques, knowledge of multiple tools in functional, non-functional test automation, latest trends and best practices in the testing industry and for integration with DevOps and DevOpsSec.
