What’s the role?

As a Field Service Technician, you get to work with an astonishing team that plays a vital role in Carl Zeiss Industrial Quality Solutions, LLC. Show case your skills and experience by process enhancements focused on installation and servicing of custom equipment. You will interact with customers and cross functional service groups that support and launch ZEISS products into the field. Additionally, you will aid the R&D team with engineering work in relation to design, build, and new system testing. This position will also support the production of systems during various stages of assembly and setup.

• Install, Repair, Troubleshoot, Service and Calibrate high tech machines at customer locations.
• Demonstrate customer service skills and knowledge with a high level of passion and dedication.
• Demonstrate your ability to learn new skills on high tech CMM’s (Coordinate Measuring Machines) utilizing mechanical and electronic aptitude.
• Perform necessary administrative paperwork in a complete and accurate manner.
• Be Solutions-oriented with the ability to work independently in a high pressure, fast-paced and innovative environment.
• Travel requirement is 90-100% within the service area, including international travel as needed.
• Other duties as required.

Job Requirements

Do you qualify?

• Minimum, High School graduate, completed GED or equivalent.
• Or, Tech School, associate, or bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as, Electronics, Industrial Mechanics, and the like.
• Or, Training and experience from a Military Technical School.
• Prior experience working with hand tools and basic electrical test equipment.
• Microsoft operating system knowledge is required.
• Capable of unassisted physical lift of one article weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Able and willing to work minimum of 50 hours per work week. Regular + OT.
• Ability to work in an industrial production shop floor environment.
• Valid Driver License required.
• Excellent communication and customer service aptitude.​

Nice to haves:

• Previous experience installing and troubleshooting industrial electronics, machines, or computer systems.
• Previous CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) installation and troubleshooting experience is preferred however not required.

The Application Engineer is responsible for providing turnkey results for the successful launch of our provided hardware and software solutions. Availability, response time and customer satisfaction are key success criteria for each service activity and as such this position requires flexibility to work different shifts and/or weekends to meet customer demands.

• Consult, primarily at customer location, to ensure the successful implementation and on-going use of ZEISS Scanning solutions in the long term. 

• Develop customer specific training requirements including on-sight workshops, on location training, classroom training based on understanding customer needs to ensure the installed solution is successful.

• Interface with customers engineering, quality and manufacturing team members and shop floor personnel to confirm scope of work and make decisions regarding onsite scope changes and adjust deliverables.

• Be the single point contact for collecting and consulting on relevant CAD data provided by the customer.

• Utilize ZEISS solutions to support customers’ automated scanning and inspection of parts and assemblies.

• Consult with customer to create SOP’s based on experience to increase other team members knowledge and skills.

• Create basic and advanced inspection layouts with reports based on customer requirements.

• Robot cell programming utilizing Virtual Measuring Room (VMR) to program robotic automated scanning process and populate inspection plans.

• Provide customer confidence through accurate and timely deliverables.

• Onsite support, oversight and consultations at customer installations that typically consist of 1-to-2-week engagements to assure successful rollouts and customer satisfaction.

• Onsite troubleshoot issues and take or recommend corrective actions or provide appropriate technical information to CAPTURE 3D or GOM support team for next step actions.

Do you qualify?

• Technical trade school, or equivalent education/experience or 2 years of technical related experience (inspection, quality control, metrology solutions, CAD/CAM or related type solutions is a benefit).
• Proficient in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints.
• Professional demeanor and confidence in presenting to a group of people.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Self-motivated and able to work both independently and alongside Capture 3D’s management and sales organization.
• Ability to articulate technical information in a simple and concise manner.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Meet required qualifications to work with ITAR designated data.
• Travel to customers and events required to support above listed responsibilities, up to 60%.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds.

What’s the role?

The Field Application Engineer will assist our customers and our Zeiss Sales team with pre-sales activities such as product demonstration and sales support, as well as post sales activities such as helping customer with understanding and applying our hardware and software systems.  This support is provided in a variety of ways, including product demonstration, formal and custom training classes, telephone and on-site support, programming and measurement services.  This important consultative role requires professional conduct and customer orientation at all times.

• Provide technical consultation to Field Sales personnel and the Industrial Metrology (IM) dealer network in matters relating to advanced applications and systems.

• Facilitate the flow and accuracy of technical information to the Field Sales force.

• Maintain a focus on advanced applications and new Zeiss IM technology.

• Support the introduction of new products into the North American Market.

• Provide technical training programs to the Field Sales personnel, Applications Engineers and IM dealer network.

• Plan, prepare and perform high quality customer demonstrations, both in-house and in the field as needed.

• Provide technical after-sales support for customers to help ensure successful use of our systems.

• Provide customer training as needed to supplement the Application Engineering staff.

• Provide support for all Carl Zeiss Industrial Metrology systems.

• Respond to all customer related software/applications support questions.

• Respond to any Carl Zeiss Industrial Metrology department requiring software/applications support.

• Aid with software and system testing in support of product development.

• Provide technical after-sales support for customers to help ensure successful use of our system.

• Provide applications expertise for necessary project related activities.

• Respond to customer request for quotation which typically includes analyzing inspection. requirements and quoting part programming costs.

• Estimate anticipated Gage R&R results.

• On-site implementation of quoted application items.

Do you qualify? ​

• A four-year degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Physics is required.  Equivalent work related experience may be considered.

• Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings.

• Must have an understanding of 3D mathematics and computer programming techniques in any of the modern scientific computer languages.

• Must have excellent verbal communication skills and be comfortable presenting technical information to small or large audiences.

The annual pay range for this position is $56,600 – $70,700.

The pay offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.

This position is also eligible for a performance bonus or sales commissions. ZEISS also offers robust benefits, including medical plans, retirement savings plan and paid time off.

What’s the role?

As a Field Service Technician, you get to work with an astonishing team that plays a vital role in Carl Zeiss Industrial Quality Solutions, LLC. Show case your skills and experience by process enhancements focused on installation and servicing of custom equipment. You will interact with customers and cross functional service groups that support and launch ZEISS products into the field. Additionally, you will aid the R&D team with engineering work in relation to design, build, and new system testing. This position will also support the production of systems during various stages of assembly and setup.

• Install, Repair, Troubleshoot, Service and Calibrate high tech machines at customer locations.

• Demonstrate customer service skills and knowledge with a high level of passion and dedication.

• Demonstrate your ability to learn new skills on high tech CMM’s (Coordinate Measuring Machines) utilizing mechanical and electronic aptitude.

• Perform necessary administrative paperwork in a complete and accurate manner.

• Be Solutions-oriented with the ability to work independently in a high pressure, fast-paced and innovative environment.

• Travel requirement is 90-100% within the service area, including international travel as needed.

• Other duties as required.

Do you qualify?

• Minimum, High School graduate, completed GED or equivalent.

• Or, Tech School, associate, or bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as, Electronics, Industrial Mechanics, and the like.

• Or, Training and experience from a Military Technical School.

• Prior experience working with hand tools and basic electrical test equipment.

• Microsoft operating system knowledge is required.

• Capable of unassisted physical lift of one article weighing up to 75 pounds.

• Able and willing to work minimum of 50 hours per work week. Regular + OT.

• Ability to work in an industrial production shop floor environment.

• Valid Driver License required.

• Excellent communication and customer service aptitude.​

Nice to haves:

• Previous experience installing and troubleshooting industrial electronics, machines, or computer systems.

• Previous CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) installation and troubleshooting experience is preferred however not required.

The annual pay range for this position is $56,600 – $70,700.

The pay offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.

This position is also eligible for a performance bonus or sales commissions. ZEISS also offers robust benefits, including medical plans, retirement savings plan and paid time off.
