• Amends or rejects work not meeting established standards, reports reoccurring failures to complete work per policy to supervisor. Refers to supervisor any questions or matters not covered by standard operating procedures and problems meeting performance standards.
• Approve annual and sick leave for purchasing staff.
• Informs supervisor of any needs regarding facility management such as seating, ventilation, lighting, safety, etc.
• Inform employees of available services and employee activities.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience: 3 plus years experience in clerical/administrative position with procurement/purchasing type experience preferred

Computer Skills: Proficient computer skills; SAP experience preferred; Microsoft Office applications proficiency required with advanced skills in Excel.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. The individual must be able to communicate with all levels within the organization. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position will not have direct reports.

The Opportunity:

In this role, you will report to the Onsite Hiring Manager  and will work closely with the Avantor’s Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Location: Santa Clara, CA

Shifts: 7:00am - 3:30pm Monday - Friday

Hourly Rate: $25/hr. (bi-weekly pay)

• Manage the receipt of incoming chemicals, which involves unpacking, entering data into the chemical management software database, affixing barcodes to containers, and allocating them to appropriate storage areas.

• Maintain oversight of chemical expiration dates, hazard classifications, and the process for receiving and stocking chemicals at designated locations.

• Conduct thorough inspections of incoming chemical packages and containers to ensure they are free from any external or internal damage upon arrival.

• Adhere strictly to all safety program requirements and standard operating procedures (SOPs) outlined by the customer.

• Fulfill any additional duties as assigned.
