  Your Role

  • Responsibility for contract /cleaner performance to achieve and exceed contract SLA and KPI

The post offered is that of a consultant psychiatrist in General Adult Psychiatry to work on Thames ward at the Dennis Scott Unit, Edgware Community Hospital, Barnet. The ward is a mixed gender acute psychiatric ward providing assessment and treatment for patients who cannot be safely managed in the community by our community teams or crisis resolution & home treatment teams.



The ward has 20 beds, however there are internal arrangements to cover the two outstanding beds thus the post holder will be responsible for 18 beds. The beds serve patients residing in the London Borough of Barnet, although the ward receives referrals from the other boroughs within the North Central London partnership (Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health Trust and Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust). On average there are 4-6 admissions per week to the ward.



This is a well-established substantive consultant post and is full-time for 10 Programmed Activities (PAs): 7.5 Direct Clinical Care (DCC) and 2.5 Supporting Professional Activities (SPAs). The post offered is that of Consultant Psychiatrist in General Adult Psychiatry (10PA), working in the Barnet West Core Community Team. The team is aligned to the Primary Care GP Locality in the West of the Borough. The post holder will share consultant lead responsibilities with one part-time substantive consultant in the service, ensuring high quality, patient-centered, effective and safe care is delivered by the team. This post will have responsibility for adults with complex mental health presentations. The West Team is one of three adult core community teams (previously known as locality teams) within Barnet (North, South and West).

The service is for adults who are aged 18–65 and are experiencing a range of mental health difficulties and who may also have complex needs that would be best met by secondary mental health services. This includes individuals experiencing the following conditions: schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder, severe depression, anxiety, personality disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorders.

A post has arisen for a Specialist Physiotherapist with an interest in Stroke and General Rehabilitation to join our enthusiastic multidisciplinary team at Edgware Community Hospital – Jade Ward.

• Undertake specialised uni-professional and multi-professional assessments.
• To develop and implement treatment plans for clients. These clients will present with an exacerbation of a frailty related condition and will likely have Multiple co-morbidities including neurological conditions, musculoskeletal conditions, osteoporosis, learning disability and/or mental health diagnosis.
• Participate in the Assessment Process when appropriate, performing overview assessments and complex specialist assessments as appropriate; including the ordering of moving and handling equipment relevant to rehabilitation need.
• To communicate relevant medical information, assessment details, advice and recommendations across agencies and with clients in compliance with Trust Guidelines for sharing of information and informed consent. These agencies include General Practitioner’s, Social Services, Healthcare professionals, voluntary agencies, and residential homes.
