1. OVERVIEW OF ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES DUTIES OF THE POST The timetable will include sub-specialty clinics in glaucoma and medical retina with at least one theatre list per week. F2F DCC is worked over three and a half long days (8am 6pm) with SPA and DCC administration undertaken flexibly. Bespoke timetable to be agreed on appointment according to the needs of the service and interests of the appointee. The post holder will support the junior trainees and liaise closely with the nursing staff and consultants. The post holder will be expected to participate in the 1:8 on-call rota shared with the Royal Surrey County Hospital. Active participation in educational half-days, teaching sessions, research, audit and departmental meetings will be expected. The post holder will also be able to apply for study leave to attend meetings and conferences outside the region. The appointee will have secretarial support. All consulting rooms have a personal computer with access to the internet. St. Peters Hospital has a modern post-graduate centre and both sites have full library services. The Trust is committed to supporting CPD. 2. REVALIDATION AND STRENGTHENED MEDICAL APPRAISAL Revalidation of licensed doctors is required every five years and is based on comprehensive appraisals undertaken over that five year period. It is designed to improve the quality of patient care by ensuring that licensed doctors remain up to date and continue to be fit to practice. All medical staff within the organisation are expected to go through Revalidation every five years. Annual appraisal is a contractual requirement for all medical staff as part of Revalidation. HOUSEKEEPER

We've got a fantastic opportunity for a Housekeeper to join our busy Housekeeping team at One Ashford Hospital. We're looking for enthusiastic experienced housekeepers who are passionate about their role and share our high standards.

HOURS: 37.5 per week.

SHIFTS: The housekeeping team rotate through the following shift times according to the needs of the business:

o 05:30 - 13:30
o 06:00 - 14:00
o 14:00 - 22:00


Our hospital is open 7 days per week - you will also be required to work weekends as and when needed.

HOUSEKEEPER

Reporting to the Patient Services Lead, the successful Housekeeper will assist in the delivery of excellent patient service across all inpatient and outpatient departments by providing a high quality housekeeping service to all areas.

You will ensure that excellent standards of cleanliness and hygiene are both achieved and maintained at all times.

As a key member of this vital team, you will be charged with all aspects of cleaning within all clinical and communal areas and consultation rooms. This will include infection control and quality assurance.

This critical role is key to the safety and well being of our patients and team members.

The role will involve:

o Cleaning common areas, patient rooms and bathrooms to the required standards;
o Cleaning Theatres, DSU, Outpatients, Imaging, and other non-Ward areas of the hospital to the required standards using the methods and materials outlined in the Housekeeping Handbook;
o Ensuring cleaning materials are used according to the relevant COSHH requirements;
o Working within infection control guidelines at all times when working within clinical areas of the hospital
o Replenishing linen and toiletries, etc. as directed.


QUALIFICATIONS

o GCSE in Maths and English or equivalent qualification


EXPERIENCE

o Ideally you will have experience within a cleaning / housekeeping or a hygiene based role where you have worked to deadlines and within set guidelines.
o You will need high attention to detail with the ability to follow instruction working with minimal supervision on occasions.
o Knowledge and understanding of COSHH regulations
o Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and be able to work alone using initiative when required.
