Job Summary:
The Access Services Librarian is a department-head level position. This position coordinates the operations of the Access Services department, including circulation, reserves, interlibrary/intercampus loan, and copyright, and provides innovative and collaborative leadership for the department. This position oversees stacks management, building management and building access. A member of the library leadership team, the Access Services Librarian establishes departmental policies and procedures and with the Dean of the Library and other department heads establishes goals for the library. This promotion-track, faculty position works closely with all library departments. Duties and responsibilities are understood in reference to the terms and conditions set forth in the Library Faculty Handbook.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential:
Provides innovative and collaborative leadership to the Access Services department while also fostering an environment in which the department and its members can thrive and grow. Supervises user services: staff for circulation, course reserves, interlibrary services, and stack maintenance.
Shares responsibility with the Dean of Library and other department heads in providing vision and leadership in moving the library forward to best serve the research and scholarship needs of our diverse student base.
Provides copyright management. Collaborates with colleagues to provide research assistance and copyright education.
Responds, directs, and maintains a secure and safe environment for all library patrons and library personnel. Fosters and mentors excellent and inclusive customer service while assisting library users, resolving problems and responding to requests related to access services.
Oversight of resource-sharing systems. System administrator for interlibrary loan (currently ILLiad). In coordination with other members of the department, manages upgrades, edits webpages, troubleshoots system technical issues, and ensures availability and easy access of services to library users.
Collects and reports statistical data related to circulation, course reserves, interlibrary loan, and stack maintenance to support decision-making both internally and externally. Coordinates ongoing departmental assessment.
Participates in professional activities, including research, publication, and service to fulfill research and scholarship requirements for academic rank and promotion.
As a member of the library faculty, serves on library and university-wide committees. Participates in various functions of the university to support the values and mission of Regis University.
Serves as bibliographer and faculty liaison to teaching departments for collection development within assigned subject areas. May participate in the library instruction program.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Required Experience:
Minimum three years of professional library experience. Minimum two years of supervisory experience.
Minimum two years of circulation and/or interlibrary loan experience; experience in both areas desirable.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service.
Demonstrated organizational and time-management skills.
Demonstrated ability to work well with a culturally diverse user population.
Evidence of excellent oral and written communication skills.
Evidence of strong attention to detail.
Preferred Experience:
Faculty rank is decided at the time of hire commensurate with experience as a librarian at a full-time regionally accredited college or university (or its equivalent).
Demonstrated ability to create and maintain an atmosphere of inclusive excellence that celebrates diverse backgrounds, beliefs, and perspectives.
Bilingual in Spanish and English
Evidence of copyright management.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.

Pay Rate:
$60,000 - $68,500 / annually commensurate with qualifications.
